According to PFF, the Lions as a team had an 88.5 pass defense grade. Davis had an 88 PFF grade. Branch and Joseph are the 5th and 6th ranked safeties in the league.

It could make sense for Cleveland to trade Garrett. They are saddled with the Watson contract and don't look good. I don't think the Lions do it.

Another pass rusher who's playing on a bad team that is facing a rebuild is Micah Parsons.

What's underrated about this Lions team is they can get pass rush up the middle. Levi is quietly having a good season. He is 11th in the NFL in pressures from interior lineman. McNeil also stepped it up last game.

There is also, dare I say, Chase Young.

I think Cam Jordan is done. I have seen Carl Granderson's name mentioned. Nothing special, but he was with the Saints when Campbell and Glenn were there.

The pass rush still looked good after Hutchinson went out. Levi is quietly having a good year, and McNeil started to return to form. Glenn will need to get more creative with blitzes again. If they can ever get Melifonwu back, he could even help in the pass rush. If there ever was a time for James Houston to prove he is an NFL caliber pass rusher, it's now.

I think the Lions need to make a move, but I don't think it needs to be an elite guy. I think Harold Landry makes a lot of sense. The Titans have a whole new front office and are going nowhere fast and could be looking to deal. Landry has had double digit sacks the past two seasons he's been healthy and four in four games this year. He's under contract beyond this year and would be a solid number two behind Hutchinson when he returns. The Lions could also get out of the contract if they wanted to. The Lions defensive line coach was the defensive line coach of the Titans the past few seasons. There is a familiarity and connection there. The Lions don't have a ton of draft picks to trade. I don't want them to make a panic move. They're not going to replace Hutchinson, but Landry could give them a respectable pass rusher.

Allen just signed a huge deal with Jacksonville. They would take a $55 million dead cap hit if they traded him. I'm not sure they are ready to pull the plug on Walker, but I wouldn't mind Walker.
