  1. Maybe McShay was right after all.
  2. I don't understand the obsession with drafting a backup QB so high when the starter missed 5 snaps and that was do to blowout wins. Goff has missed 5 games over 6 years. 3 were due to injury, one to COVID, and one to rest after the Rams clinched the division. I also think one of the three games he missed due to injury was just McVay benching him. There's no need to draft a backup QB in the 2nd round.
  3. Hendon Hooker will be about 26 or 27 by the time he is ready to become a starter.
  4. It depends on how they structure the extension but they could even save cap space in the short term by signing Goff to an extension. They could also save $12 million or there about by restructuring Goff. If your play is draft a QB and then move on from Goff in a year, it takes restructuring off the table. Then you have $30 million in cap space in Goff and another $6-7 million in a 1st round backup QB. If the QB is good, you'll need to extend him typically after year three like the Rams did with Goff. You get about two years of cap savings. It's so stupid.
  5. It makes a shit ton more sense for Seattle to draft a QB than the Lions. I have no idea why so many more mocks have Detroit taking a QB over Seattle.
  6. Boebert is weak. She got smacked down in the debate against Adam Frisch and later just attacked the moderator. She always backs down to people who stand up to her.
  7. Tennessee will not be one upped by Florida.
  8. Twitter has gotten so bad that I was reading responses to a Tweet from a Lions beat writer about the hiring of John Fox and there was a reply with full frontal nudity. The bad thing is it wasn't of high quality.
  9. Stafford is only going to be on the Rams for two more seasons. He signed a massive contract extension. His cap hit this year is only $20 million but he would cost $55 million to cut. Next year his cap hit goes up to $49 million and they still would lose $6 million if they cut him. The earliest they could get of the contract is 2025. He'll be 37 and have a $50 million cap hit but the Rams could save $13.5 if they cut him. By then all their other stars will be gone or old and they would have had only one 1st round pick baring any trades. I think it's finally caught up with them.
  10. Yeah we've just given up on the well regulated militia part.
  11. The Lions offense immediately got better after Lombardi was fired. You can trace Matthew Stafford's career resurgence to the exact game Jim Bob Cooter took over as offensive coordinator.
  12. Payton hired Lombardi as offensive coordinator. Not sure how he still continues to get these jobs. Now Payton is still interested in Patricia. His coaching hires have been underwhelming.
  13. Benson is going to run for governor in 2026. Slotkin is fine.
  14. I also think Snead may get exposed. I poke around the Rams forum from time to time and I see them questioning the trading of all those picks and how they lately aren't hitting on their late round picks like they used to. No one mentioned the brains of the operation left in 2021.
  15. I'm surprised McVay didn't bail this year.
  16. The Rams essentially had 4 1sts, 3 3rds, and 2 2nd round picks invested in Stafford plus Goff was taking up more cap space in 2021 for the Rams than Stafford. They had nearly $45 million in cap space on QBs. I know everyone will say they won the Super Bowl but I feel they could have done more with that capital.
  17. I'm not sure Houston is an every down defensive end, but he can certainly be a pass rush specialist and threaten double digit sack totals.
  18. The Rams have no picks and a lot of money tied to aging stars. This thing could get ugly for the Rams. Here Stafford is in another rebuilding situation. The guy's whole career has been on a rebuilding team except for one season.
