  1. Jim Caldwell inherited a 7-9 Lions team and went 11-5 and made the playoffs. They proceeded to start the following season 1-7. As Rasheed Wallace once said, sometimes the sun shines on a dog's ass once in a while.
  2. God I can't wait until the Giants and Jets come back to reality. It may have already started with the clunkers they put up.
  3. Anzalone: You are correct, he was never good. Oruwariye: He really never was good, but he had a lot of interceptions last year. Harris: Was a 1st round bust and had one good year. I guess the coaching staff doesn't get credit for the one and only good year he had Elliot: He has a 65 PFF grade. In 2021 he was a 65 and in 2020 a 66 and in 2019 69 in limited snaps. Not seeing the regression. Barnes: Is actually better this year but still awful. Brockers: Is old and washed up. Probably also benefited playing along side Donald. Harris: See Anzalone
  4. Lets not forget they got Okudah back who was the 3rd overall pick and playing well. Holmes also drafted Joseph who has showed promise in the secondary.
  5. And they addressed the defense with their first pick. I still love the Williams pick.
  6. "Fighting against tyranny without the option of surrender."
  7. I'm guessing the conspiracy theorist in the thread yesterday won't be here today.
  8. I don't think he expected the results to be different. Whether fans like it or not, they are still in rebuild mode. I expect them to be more aggressive in free agency this year.
  9. I mean, Pleasant was probably next in line and if you think he's doing a poor job, why would you fire Glenn and promote Pleasant? I think it's highly likely Glenn is gone at the end of the season. Judging by Campbell's comments, it seems the defensive backs were not on the same page as the defensive gameplan.
  10. It likely wouldn't because Miami wouldn't have run out the clock on the final possession. They would have went right down the field like they did all game. We can also say if the defense got one extra stop they would have won.
  11. I keep thinking back to when those yahoos in Texas tried to run Harris bus off the road and Rubio dismissed it.
  12. I mean, there were only 3 offensive possessions in the 2nd half.
  13. The Lions only had three offensive possessions. One was killed by 20 yards in penalties resulting in a 2nd and 30, the other had a sack for negative 10 yards, and the third they moved the ball well into FG range before turning over on downs. Sorry, I just don't see an issue with the offense right now when the defense forced one punt and gave up 31 points and nearly 400 yards to Tua.
  14. It's pretty clear what is wrong with this team is the defense.
  15. Then the Dolphins would have led at half time, and after they scored 14 in the 3rd quarter, the complaint would be Goff is just padding his stats in garbage time.
  16. If it makes you feel better if they scored 13 in the 1st half and 14 in the second half, so be it.
  17. I think the conversation would be with Spielman. Isn't that why they brought him in?
  18. You should be happy then that the Lions were are scoring when the other team is really trying. Considering this defense can't stop anyone, they are always going to be down unless they score on every possession which is simply unreasonable.
  19. Nope, but like I said the offense has been good enough to win in 5 of 7 games. Odd hill you seem to want to die on when the Lions have the 8th best offense in PPG this season.
  20. I'm old enough to remember when the Lions scored a bunch of second half points you accused Stafford of stat padding. They scored 27 points. That should be enough to win. Buffalo scored 27 points with only 3 coming in the 2nd half and they won by 10. The issue with this team is the defense.
  21. The Lions only had three possessions in the 2nd half. One they committed 20 yards of penalties which put them in a 2nd and 30 killed the drive, the other they drove down into field goal range but turned it over on downs due to needing a TD, the other was a 5 play drive in which they gave up a sack. Miami had long sustained drives in that half that took the ball out of the offense's hands.
