It's worse than that. Bernie Sanders, along with the Squad, are grifters. Their brand relies on grievance politics. The more Democrats accomplish, the worse it is for them. They share a lot of qualities with Trumpers. Remember, it was Bernie Sanders who first complained of rigged elections when he lost by 3 million votes. They are the moral superior ones and everything is a purity contest much the way Evangelical Trumpers feel morally superior. They play footsie with Russia by complaining about aid to Ukraine. They're all about the outrage and not about accomplishing anything.

I know GM engineers who feel the same way. I think it's more they're resistant to change.
