  1. Why in the world do you throw a pass about 4 yards short of 1st down?
  2. The game is in Minnesota so it's only 6:45 there.
  3. I have never seen Hockenson get so many yards after catch. WTF happened to Hockenson going down immediately after contact?
  4. If I took a shot for every time this broadcast crew said wide open against the Vikings defense, I would be blasted by now. Vikings are frauds.
  5. Do not like either of these teams. Both of them have negative point differentials. Lions are plus 26 and not in the playoffs. These two teams are frauds.
  6. Looking at the teams in the playoffs in the NFC, you have Sirianni, Shanahan, O'Connell, Daboll, and Mike McCarthy was originally hired in Green Bay as a young offensive coordinator. Todd Bowles and Pete Carrol were non offensive coordinators in the NFC. Looking at the AFC you have Reid, Taylor, Pederson, and McDaniel as offensive coaches. Only McDermott, Staley and Harbaugh were non offensive coaches. This also doesn't include McVay who won the Super Bowl last year or LaFluer who had the best record in the NFC last year.
  7. Jacksonville's last loss was to the Lions. The Lions beat this team 40-14. The Lions put them away unlike the Chargers.
  8. That Chargers job seems to have Sean Payton written all over it.
  9. Yeah so I think Staley is getting fired.
  10. There had been talk about Staley's job before this injury. With Payton sitting out there, the Chargers are such a good fit for Payton. I would not be surprised to see Staley fired.
  11. Lions would beat Dallas in a rematch plus the Lions have the better QB.
  12. I think I would have the Lions ahead of Minnesota.
  13. I recall Johnson got a lot of credit for that as he became more involved in the designing of the plays and was credited for Goff improving last year. I believe the Lions will have a succession plan in place if Johnson gets a job. The Lions are now a destination for coaches so they will promote someone within to fill Johnson's position and then backfill that position with another coach. The Bills didn't cry when Daboll went to the Giants. They promoted Dorsey and the offense didn't miss a beat.
  14. Amazing how the Packers beat some suspect teams and suddenly they were this unstoppable force and the Lions being 7-2 was completely dismissed. I also like how they thought the hook and lateral was because the Lions had nothing to lose as if this team didn't run a pass play to Sewell with the game on the line and still very much in playoff contention.
  15. I think Johnson is a good fit for Carolina. Let him take a crack at Darnold while he's still young. You can still draft your future QB for Johnson to develop. The Panthers aren't devoid of talent either. They have some pieces. I think teams like Denver and Arizona where you got veteran QBs with baggage you are better off with a more experienced coach.
  16. If Josh McDaniels didn't burn bridges in the NFL, I have no idea how Harbaugh burned bridges. Harbaugh has the receipts.
  17. I was thinking the same thing especially since a guy like Ray Agnew would satisfy the Rooney rule. Agnew also has front office experience with the Rams. I think teams will eventually start to come for the Lions front office.
  18. I'm not sure why Harbaugh didn't get an NFL job after he left the 49ers. I'm not sure why Meyer, Kingsbury, Ruhle all got jobs ahead of Harbaugh. For some reason either NFL teams don't want him or he hasn't seen a job he wanted. To be honest I would rather have Harbaugh than Payton.
  19. Mike McDaniel is another young coach with only one year as offensive coordinator. Did McDaniel even call plays in San Francisco?
  20. Zac Taylor spent part of one season in the NFL as an interim offensive coordinator under Dan Campbell and on the same staff as Ben Johnson and that was four years before he got hired by the Bengals. He was Jared Goff's QB coach. Teams want the next hot shot offensive guru.
  21. Has a Lions coordinator ever been hired by another team as a head coach? Like while they were still a Lions coordinator? I remember Terryl Austin got a little attention but I don't think a Lions coordinator was ever a hot candidate.
  22. Dan Campbell had zero coordinator experience and Vrabel had one year of coordinator experience. These teams theoretically aren't going to have openings next year except for Houston so it's either take the chance on hiring the next McVay or let some other team do it next year.
