  1. How does he saber rattle a senator from West Virginia where Trump won by 30 points? Going out and voting is the only solution. Congress has already come up with a bill to codify Roe that has passed the house. They just need a couple more senators to get it across the finish line. Instead, we just want Biden to saber rattle.
  2. What is it? He's telling voters what they need to do. He has supported carving out the filibuster to codify Roe. He has called out this Supreme Court. What else is he suppose to do?
  3. It's ironic that Democrats want a liberal Trump.
  4. The narrative that he has to do more is coming from his own party. He has to deal with friendly fire because a bunch of entitled, mostly progressives, are throwing a temper tantrum. This circular firing squad is muddying the waters. He has said rather forcefully to codify Roe and to carve out the filibuster. The fact is, the Democrats need more senators in the senate and there is a bunch of entitled liberals who don't want to hear that and focus their efforts on getting more Democrats elected. It's becoming a repeat of 2016.
  5. Trump got fewer votes than Romney in Michigan and Wisconsin. Only Pennsylvania did he do better than Romney. Jill Stein also got significantly more votes in those three states than she did in 2012. Stein got 30,000 more votes in Michigan in 2016 than 2012 and 24,000 more votes in Wisconsin than in 2012. Those difference are greater than the margins Trump won by. I'll go out on a limb and say those where Obama to Stein voters than Romney to Stein voters. She also got 38,000 more votes in 2016 in Pennsylvania and the margin was 44,000. I really hope those protest votes for Stein accomplished what the voter wanted.
  6. Hillary got over 300,000 less votes in Michigan and Wisconsin than Obama in 2012 and about 75,000 less in Pennsylvania. All those would have more than covered the margin Trump won by
  7. She didn't get more votes. She got about 62,000 less and that was almost the difference between her winning and losing.
  8. Ah yes, more of the OMG do something. Republicans got Roe overturned because they won elections and stayed focus. It took decades and 6 years after Trump first got elected. The answer is to elect more Democrats who support codifying Roe and craving out the filibuster. What is the president suppose to do? As a white male I say fuck it let the Republicans win. It affects me less than others. I didn't blame Hilary. I blame all the entitled Democrats who threw a temper tantrum and didn't vote in 2016. They didn't take the Supreme Court seriously and now that we are faced with the consequences it's just do something.
  9. You are aware that the president doesn't control the filibuster? That Biden has called for a carve out of the filibuster? What exactly is he suppose to work on? How does he compel a senator from West Virginia where Trump won by 30 to carve out the filibuster? 267 out of 269 Democrats in the house and senate voted to codify Roe. That simply isn't enough votes. Biden has said they need more votes. People don't want to hear that. What's going to happen is this circular firing squad on Democrats by Democrats is going to lead to Republicans controlling all three branches. It happened in 2016 and it's going to happen in 2024.
  10. McConnell held a Supreme Court seat hostage for 9 months. Hillary literally told us Roe was on the ballot. Progressives never cared about the Supreme Court until we are faced with the consequences and now they want Biden to "do something" as if a president can just overturn a Supreme Court decision.
  11. Does North Carolina still have those potty laws? Just wait until a Republican becomes governor again and returns North Carolina to the confederacy.
  12. Best I can find is that about 4,000 people migrate to North Carolina on average which is about 0.001% of California's population. Doesn't seem some large migration to North Carolina from California. That assumes no one moved from North Carolina to California.
  13. California has a progressive income tax. Single tax filers making $35,000 and under pay 4% from income between $22k and $35k. If there was a flat 4%, single filers making roughly $65,000 and less would receive a tax increase with the poorest receiving the largest increase. The wealthiest would receive the largest tax decrease. What do we expect Elon Musk and Lebron James to do with their new found tax decreases on personal income tax? When are we going to be done with this trickle down bs?
  14. In other words you want California to raise taxes on the poor and cut taxes on the wealthy.
  15. A surplus this large is likely to be a one time thing so essentially they are giving a tax cut. What is more beneficial than a tax cut is California becoming the first state in the country to provide its citizens with universal health care and manufacture and sell insulin near cost.
  16. Ohhh before election day. The Republicans may have had a chance of winning California if not for some checks.
  17. What is happening is California is providing its citizens with health care and insulin.
  18. <insert pull out joke>
  19. It was Donald Trump, the right wing, and white supremacist groups pushing the big lie and not protests in Minnesota. You're shifting part of the blame for white right wing extremists did on left wingers. That is justifying it. Perhaps you need to take a break, go outside and smell the flowers.
  20. Once again you are trying to justify right wing extremism violence by both sidesing it. It wasn't Hillary Clinton who rallied armed supporters to the capitol to hang Joe Biden if he didn't overturn the election. The Highland Park shooter didn't have flags of Joe Biden. The Buffalo shooter didn't shoot up a black supermarket because of defund the police. The El Paso shooter didn't shoot up a Walmart because he was afraid Texas is turning into a red state. The original premise of this discussion was that both sides are extreme and fueling the violence. It's very clear there is one side that is the problem. You don't just get to excuse the right by saying nuance and both sides. The original pretext was extremism on both sides fuels violence. Now we're down to property damage, which by the way a lot of right wing extremist were found to be causing the damage. They were literally doing it so Edman can come and say nuance and both sides and the left fuels extremism too. Who is deflecting criticism about the Floyd protests? This conversation was about violence. A lot of property damage was done during the protests.
  21. And yet it was a right winger boogaloo boi who admitted to shooting up the police station in Minneapolis that got burned down and not a BLM protestor. This is also ignoring the fact that BLM were protesting a legitimate cause and not fueled by a lie from the Republican party. Both sides are not equal in extremism.
  22. Meet the new Democratic front runner for any statewide opening in Michigan.
