  1. Neither Kansas City or Green Bay even inquired on Deebo Samuel either.
  2. The Lions drafted the best defensive player in the draft.
  3. Just because a QB was there, doesn't mean you have to take him. It wasn't that long ago that Goff was the must have number one QB. I'm old enough to remember when Goff and Wentz were the future of the league. Dorsey is a part of this offense and waited until the right time to draft a QB. They could also be taking a different approach and building the roster and waiting until the next Watson, Russell or Stafford become disgruntled and swoop in and grab them.
  4. The worst think you can do is draft a QB just because you feel you have to. Goff's contract also made it difficult for them to get off until after this season.
  5. He's just afraid to go deep. If you get someone that actually gets open deep, he'll do it. Josh Reynolds averaged 16 yards per completion and Goff was a different QB when he came over.
  6. You are aware he only signed a one year contract? The Lions signed DeShon Elliot so they don't need a safety.
  7. Glover Quin was taken with the 112th pick and DeAndre Levy take with the 76th. No need to draft LB or S this high.
  8. Goff doesn't even need to throw it deep even. Williams has the ability to take slants or out routes to the house.
  9. That's the thing, teams will drop safeties to cover the deep threat leaving the underneath open for Hockenson and St Brown.
  10. Josh Reynolds averaged 16 yards per reception with Goff throwing to him. Regardless of Goff, whoever replaces him benefits from having a dynamic receiver like Williams.
  11. He existed the last half of last season.
  12. Certainly. When he had one in Brandin Cooks, Cooks put one of the best years of his career. A guy who get separation is exactly what Goff needs. He isn't a gun slinger like Stafford who can thread the needle. I mean, it's not like a rookie replacement won't be able to use him.
  13. It's weird to me the same person who thinks it's a luxury for this team to trade up and get Williams is the same one who was more than willing to trade 32 and 34 for Deebo and give him a big contract.
  14. Calvin Johnson was the 2nd overall pick.
  15. I can't believe there are some people who didn't want to lose the 66th pick. Kellen Mond was drafted 66th last year. Some of the same people who wanted the Lions to trade for Deebo didn't want to move up for Williams.
  16. Should the Lions go after Lamar Jackson? He's going to be a free agent and appears unhappy with the Ravens. Surely the Ravens will franchise him at the end of the season so maybe the Lions can work out a trade similar to the Stafford deal where they send Goff and some picks to Baltimore on the condition Jackson agrees to an extension. The Lions offense will be intriguing for Jackson. A very good offensive line, two good receivers plus a potential third if Chark has a good season and they re-sign him, a good TE, and a solid running game.
  17. If it weren't for the refs, the Cowboys would have accounted for the Lions only two playoff wins.
  18. They may just put Williams on the PUP list.
  19. It may even help Chark as teams will roll safety coverage to Williams to prevent the deep ball.
  20. I think it's been reported that Williams was upset three receivers were drafted ahead of him.
  21. The thing for me with Jacksonville is that they threw around a lot of money on good but not great players. It's really the same thing Quinn did but the Lions under Quinn were a lot closer to contention.
