  1. I'm afraid of getting malware.
  2. Slay has had a good year this year but he was not that great last year nor the last season or two in Detroit and was only getting older and more expensive. Quandre Diggs, per pff, has been worse in Seattle than Detroit but of course he's a pro bowler now.
  3. It's funny because I see a lot of proud boys and insurrectionists wear masks too.
  4. I'm not sure I would get on a plane with those federal air traffic controllers and all those regulations.
  5. If you're fine with private security, than are there no laws if there are no police? Would there be no courts? It seems like a group would just take over like the Taliban. That sounds pretty awful. The US would eventually turn into the Purge.
  6. This makes me wish we could have seen what Aaron Glenn could have done with Okudah.
  7. With Canada being oppressed under the weight of socialism, why aren't Canadians fleeing to the US?
  8. Canadians coming to the US are visitors and Mexicans are illegals. Speaking of mob rule, I haven't seen a bunch of Trudeau supporters attack parliament in an attempt to overturn an election.
  9. Their currency has the British Monarch on it instead of a guy with syphilis.
  10. I'm going to start counting everybody myself. We have 138 people on this forum minus one Canadian so that makes 137. I may need to hire the cyber ninjas and mypillow guy for this.
  11. Detroit Police patrols downtown heavily and Midtown gets a big assist from Wayne State police. The rest of Detroit is the wild west. Your other neighborhoods that are hanging on by a thread like Palmer Woods has private security.
  12. Trump is in such a precarious position. On one hand he needs to pretend that COVID doesn't exist, on the other hand he wants to take credit for the vaccine rollout.
  13. Since Detroit is past the point of no return and unsalvageable, I find what's going on in Chicago fascinating. Don't most people who support police reform want more community based policing? Isn't this part of defunding the police? Using the community to help police themselves? Chicago already has over 800 murders, how many were committed by armed vigilantes? Is that more dangerous than what's already going on?
  14. Speaking of ignoring facts, Fox seems like the perfect user name.
  15. My favorite part was where we ignore facts and Fox ignored the fact in the link he provided that vaccines are highly effective against death and severe illness. That still doesn't top the "fact" that the vaccine caused an NFL player to sustain a head injury during a football game because of the vaccine.
  16. Interesting. One of the studies you linked says vaccines are highly effective in preventing severe illness and death and now you say they don't?
  17. I kind of assumed Chicago already had these types of community groups. We had them in my neighborhood in Detroit. I know Palmer Woods has private security. I grew up on the Grosse Pointe border and Grosse Pointe had community patrol particularly along the Detroit border.
  18. Right so I would be concerned if the level of crime is surging only a block away. Maybe they want to head off the crime before it becomes a problem? I remember when we were this naive when the neighborhoods surrounding my Detroit neighborhood were declining.
  19. There is a large flow of Americans that cross the border in both directions. Ted Cruz for example.
  20. I'm no Chicago expert, so I'll let Buddha chime in, but my mapping skills show me the intersection of Milwaukee/Damen/North is not in Bucktown and is in a neighborhood per your map that has saw a dramatic increase in crime. Violent crime in Chicago is up 7.5% but one neighborhood saw a decrease and my wife walks alone so anecdotes.
  21. Fox just opened up my eyes to how many different right wing disinformation sites there are.
  22. This is my main takeaway from that study: "COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective in preventing severe illness and death from SARS-CoV-2 62 (the virus that causes COVID-19)"
  23. Has Chicago tried defunding the police? Judging by the sharp decline in officers, I'm going to say yes.
