That doesn't mean that every decision they ever made has been wrong, it doesn't mean that every player they drafted have had their careers ruined, and it doesn't mean that every future decision will be the wrong one. I'm sure you won't admit that Stafford, Johnson and Suh didn't have their careers ruined but you're too lazy to admit that.

Stafford could have went back for his senior season. It was no secret the Lions were going to have the #1 pick before he declared for the draft. He could have even pulled an Eli Manning, but he agreed to a contract with the Lions before the draft.

They couldn't wait to leave despite the fact two of them signed long term contract extensions, or in Stafford's case, two contract extensions. If the Lions really did ruin their careers, they would have been out of football. The only one out of football is in the hall of fame.

Not only that, a sizeable group of people tried to say it was a hoax and never happened.

You're just all over the place. The fact is the Lions didn't ruin their careers. Johnson, Stafford and Suh probably went on to have the best and most productive careers of anyone in their respective drafts and all 3 could easily be hall of famers. The Lions didn't ruin their careers.

Gerald McCoy, drafted immediately after Suh, has played in 0 playoff games in his entire career. Guess his career was ruined. Had he been drafted by the Lions, he would have played in at least two playoff games.

The point was the Lions ruin players career. In the case of Stafford, Suh and Johnson, the Lions didn't ruin their careers. Each one of them had the opportunity to go elsewhere. The Lions did absolutely nothing to impede that. All three of them were highly desirable players because they had great Lions careers and could have went wherever they wanted.

Are you dense? Hutchinson won't get the largest contract ever for a defensive player if he isn't good. If he is that good to warrant that kind of contract, it means the team didn't ruin his career. It means their careers weren't ruined by the Lions. If the Lions ruined their careers, no one would want to sign them. Instead, they were among the best at their position and commanded top dollar.

There are hundreds of players who get drafted and never win a championship and/or move to other teams. The fact is all 3 are potential hall of famers who made lots of money.

When he was on Detroit he was one of the best defensive players in the game and the highest paid defensive player ever at the time. He now has a ring and a decent shot at the hall of fame. Well, Johnson and Stafford had the opportunity to sign elsewhere and chose not to. Suh did decide to sign elsewhere and ironically never had the same success as he did in Detroit so so much for the Lions ruining his career.

Yeah Stafford, Suh and Johnson all had their careers destroyed. All were the highest paid player ever at their respective position at one point and one is in the hall of fame already and the other two have decent odds of making it. The Lions have been fairly good with high draft picks recently.
