As an aside, I also love how Archie blames "government agencies".... is it that hard to call them the police, or do you have to turn in your "blue lives matter" card the moment you criticize law enforcement?

If its the fault of the police then I fully blame them.  Its my understanding there are more than one agency responsible for the red flag list so that was my reason for calling them government agency.  I don't know which one was to blame so I wasn't trying to protect anyone.  Fact is someone failed and so did the parents.  Having red flag laws and background checks aren't going to do any good if people don't do their job...whoever they may be.

Oh, so you have statistical analysis that social media contributed to a rise in mass shootings by assault weapons? Also, was there not war before? Vietnam? Gulf War? One statistic that isn't up for debate is that 100% of mass shootings with an assault weapon are done with an assault weapon. Whatever you want to say about motivations for carrying out the shootings, they are all done with assault rifles. Lack of access lead to lack of mass shootings with those weapons.

Are you sure?  An assault rifle is defined as:

any of various intermediate-range, magazine-fed military rifles (such as the AK-47) that can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire.

Are you aware of what requirements are needed to purchase an assault rifle, how long it takes or costs involved?  I think these shooters or cowards are using semi-automatic rifles and not assault rifles.  The liberals and their media partners like to dump all rifles into the same category but that is just a scare tactic to take firearms away from law abiding citizens.  I heard the media describe the firearm as a high powered rifle.  That's easy because almost all rifles, including hunting rifles are "high powered" and semi automatic.

  3. Its now reported that the shooter was considered a "clear and present danger" by police in 2019.  That should have triggered red flags during his background check but it didn't.  It not a big surprise but government agencies didn't do their jobs.  Laws don't matter if they are not enforced.  There is no reason to punish legal and law abiding gun owners because the government failed to do their job - again.

Now that I have had time to digest what happened.  What a shit show.

Ferrari has knocked it out of the park with their car this season.  Now they must spend next winter seriously upgrading their strategy department.  They constantly cost their drives races/positions with absolutely mind-boggling dumb strategy.

First was not pitting Charles on that Ocon safety car.  You can hear his race engineer telling him to stay out, so he wasn’t past the pits when the yellow popped.  Binotto said they didn’t have time to double stack and Carlos had older tires, so they chose to pit him instead.  OK, that makes sense.  Except someone posted the telemetry of the race and Carlos was 9 seconds behind Charles when the yellow came out.  Plenty of time to double stack.  Sounds like he was making excuses for bad strategy.

The second bad strategy choice didn’t happen because their driver said no.  On the restart they wanted Sainz to back up Lewis the 10 car lengths you are allowed so Charles had some room to work with.  Sainz basically said no and ran the restart like normal.  Charles fumbles, Sainz jumps at his chance and wins the race.  If Sainz is attempting to back up Lewis, good chance he gives up position.  Then Charles is on old tires and is easy pickings for Lewis.

You got the car right.  Now go back and rebuild that race strategy department.

It amazes me how bad some these teams strategies during the race are.   I know its easy being an arm chair quarterback but the teams have so much more information than we do and I think we can come up with better strategy in front of our tv.

Oh, there were cops there, dumbshit.    Hmmm, the guys trained in shooting couldn't stop it.   Amazing.

Excuse me.  You are the dumbshit for stupid shit you post.  Do some research and know what you are talking about!

Most American thing ever on the 4th of July.    Wait, you mean there were good guys with guns there and somehow they didn't stop it?

If I had the money to leave, I would.

Good guys with guns are law abiding citizens so they weren't there.  Highland Park has some of the strictest gun laws in the country.  Here is a link to the gun laws in that city.

  7. Joe's crash wasn't that bad. He just got upside down.  How and where he landed was bad and it took a while to get him out.  Luckily there was no fire since he was trapped in the car.

I think its funny Mick apologized to the team for swearing on the team radio after the race.  Gunther Steiner is the Haas team boss and he can't string three words together without one of them be F%$#.

Anyway, that was a good race today.

  8. Biden and the democrats got a win from SCOTUS today when they allowed Biden to end the stay in Mexico policy.  Funny that when Biden and the dems get something in their favor it hurts the country.

if authorities think someone's breaking the law you investigate.  That is literally their job.  Nobody's "going after" him.

Why did the LAPD "go after" OJ?  See how dumb that sounds

They've been on a witch hunt against Trump before he even was sworn in.  Several of the dems said they were going to impeach him before he took office.  One famously said we're going to impeach the MFer.  That pretty much told us everything we needed to know about the dems.  Its all theater and no substance.

  10. I really don't understand the dems motivation on going after Trump.  They should want him to run again because he is the best or even only chance for the dems to win the WH again.  Smearing him before the election will only give someone else the nomination.  After what Biden has done to the country so far in his term it would take a miracle for him to win and Harris would be as much of a long shot.

I apologize for being off topic here, but I want to share this.  I'm a huge race fan and I understand and respect the F1 stuff.  Open wheel, high horsepower to weight ratio.  F1 is the leader of the field in every category as far as technology.  That's good for humanity as well.

Then there is the crude version of horsepower to weight ratio.  The video below is from a race last night in ND featuring the World of Outlaws, the dirt track version of F1.  1425 pound cars with 900+ horsepower engines running around a dirt oval. Some of the NASCAR guys run with these guys at times, including last years champion Kyle Larson.

The #17 car goes from 6th to 1st in the last 4 or 5 laps.

It takes some talent to drive those. Back in the 70's when they were true outlaws -run whatch brung- a lot of them were also running nitrous bottles.  Like most series they have a lot of rules now and everyone runs about the same cars. I like the old days where they could get creative.  Same with F1 and Indy.

I am honestly at a loss for words at how absolutely stupid that woman's comments are.  It makes all of the people on the right look bad.  That ruling, whether you agree or disagree with it, had nothing to do with race.  If it had, and this lady had any brains, she would see that black women have more abortions than any other demographic and white women the least.  The correct response would've been Trump correcting her and then tell her he wouldn't share the stage with her.

Baez is hitting .387/.424/.936 with 4 HR, 9 RBI, and 2 SB over his last 8 games.  Streaky hitters are streaky.

He's got the attitude back too instead of hanging his head after each AB.

  14. I read this morning that in the agreement that ESPN will carry a few of the races on ESPN plus which I think is their streaming service.  That part of it I don't like because I won't give them any more money.  On those races I will probably sign up to the F1 streaming.  You get all the other races and on track activities for the weekend.  The article also said that Amazon made a strong pitch for the rights and their offer was a little more than rest but they still went with ESPN.

Great news!   Nice bump in fee for Liberty too.

Yup, that is good news.  Its hard to complain about a broadcast they show without commercials.  I hope that continues.

  16. I can think of three reasons why someone in NY or in the entire USA would feel the need to be carry a firearm to protect themselves.

    1. antifa

    2. black lives matter

    3. liberals

All three support violence on people that don't agree with them and or have different beliefs and values.  We've seen it many times over where violence breaks out against Republicans and conservatives.  Look at how these groups went off the deep end when they saw someone wearing a red hat or shirt.   At the very least they tried to get people kicked out of restaurants and not served at other business.  Maxine Waters is on record publicly calling for this.

  17. I haven't seen any info regarding the return of ERod.  Usually these leaves are pretty short but it seems like he's been out a couple weeks already.  When or if he comes back they will send him to Toledo for a few weeks to get ready.  So far he is falling in the category of a FA signing bust.  Al is familiar with those.

That is not accurate.   None of the teams spotted any porpoising in the wind tunnel during development since it only occurs at speeds faster than the tunnel can measure.  It became an issue on the new cars once they hit Barcelona for testing.   Every team was surprised by it and all had to deal with it to some degree or another.

The decision this week for the FIA to step in actually hurt Merc. They are suffering the worse than everyone and now they can be forced to make changes to the car that will impact performance.  The decision won't be their's anymore if they want to try and live with it during a race.

My point is that its each teams problem to fix and it shouldn't take directive from FIA that effects all team.  Some of the teams don't have that big of an issue so they should be penalized.

Build a better car ya twat.

In my head that is what Binotto said to Toto, but probably not.

Toto want the whole grid penalized because they have a bad design.  I heard that McLaren raised their cars last week to stop the porpoising.  That's what Merc needs to do if its a problem for them.    Somehow in Toto's mind if they need to raise their car everyone else needs to do the same.  Not everyone is having the issue.

Legitimate concern but circumstances are different.  All the emotion from that milestone likely was taxing. Whereas today being the debut of a highly touted prospect and him playing extremely well should put a spring in this team’s collective step that they can keep cashing in on over and over.

but these are the Tiger’s, so……..

I hope you're right.  A nice 10 game winning streak would be nice.  Actually I would be happy as long as they win more than they lose from here.
