    MAP PR0N!

I enjoy the fact that I can say I live north of Canada.
  2. Just to note from my POV, this is exactly what is happening with Biden in regards to Ukraine. Based on reports about Nordstream, long range weapons, and even rushing Ukraine into NATO, from a zealous (and arguably righteous) standpoint, it's easy to give or greenlight everything Ukraine asks for or wants, but it seems whenever there is hesitation on our part, it seems like we later hear reports that Biden specifically is the one that is worried about the overzealousness and has pushed back.
  3. It's the same mentality as we see in Congress and with Trump's adminitration, they had to stay and they have to do whatever is necessary to stay, so that in the event they need to put the brakes on something, they are there. Yet every crossroads, they pick the 'stay' path versus the 'it's time to push back' path.
  4. I'm not sure how moderate she is, however for the issues she pushes the most, which I tend to disagree with her end point views the most, I actually wouldn't mind her in charge. I still have my conservative roots and want to see businesses rewarded for doing good work, but the pendulum has swung to far and we need more minds like Warren correcting some of those issues.
  5. I'm actually excited about Christie being in this race. I see no chance of him winning, but I kind of think he knows that too. I feel like it's a kamikaze mission. Having a huge pool fighting each other is great for Trump, but I feel like Christie could knock some folks out soon and when it's down to just a few folks, these comments he's making are going to make it into the Trump backing folks.
  6. That steel plant that Ukrainians held out in for so long had a contingent that was part of a far right nationalist group, some wearing Nazi symbols. CNN was the first I was aware of to blur out those symbols while honoring those fighters. That said, you're talking about a small subset. Even in the US we have far right nationalist folks, ironically you support the same politicians that they do.
  7. Is there consensus on if it has even started yet?
  8. And to further this, Taiwan is definitely more important to the US than Ukraine, so if we're going to support Ukraine like we are, Xi can only imagine what we'll do for Taiwan.
  9. He has some legitimate points, but 1) I don't see Ukraine or even Europe agreeing to what he's saying even if we pulled our military support and 2) he's refusing to look at the benefits in terms of the deterrent China has to see in terms of world support for Ukraine. There is an argument that Xi would be fine being a bit more isolated and dealing with that fallout if he were to go after Taiwan, but I don't think he would want to deal with it at the point of what Xi is seeing Russia deal with.
  10. And yet, despite a 30 second clip of what possibly appears to show some bad fighting technique, they've been able to hold off the entirety of the Russian army for the past year.
  11. And to stress again, it absolutely should have received the scrutiny that it initially did for the reasons both you and Oblong stated.
  12. I didn't say it was a non story, I said it ended up being a non story after it was learned that the patents that were awarded, weren't influenced by Trump. They were pushed through on the China side, with the hopes to influence no doubt, but turns out they were patents that had been sitting for years for things Ivanka was no longer involved with, thus no value to her anyway. This is why the issue eventually died out, after I believe it was the NYT's, much to their chagrin I'm sure, discovered that. Additionally this was for business that happened prior to her role in the White House, I keep getting told that doesn't matter when we're talking about 10% for the 'big guy'. I'm not trying to defend the Trump family, but there are plenty of legit things to complain about.
  13. Ivanka's China stuff is an actual non-story, but it was legitimate for the media to dig into, which they did. The way the media covered the laptop originally, and now the lack of covering anything related to Biden's family and foreign interest seems unreal to me. That said, what (Joe) Biden appeared to be involved in, based on Hunter's laptop, is old school politics, and now completely accepted. I feel like people are cool with that type of influence peddling as long as the person is on their side. I don't understand why the media didn't go as hard on Kushner. It also is old school politics, but the media loves to talk all things Trump and he's not on the 'right' side so I don't get this. I hope more than just the media is involved in this. I'm not saying Kushner did anything technically illegal, but I certainly hope it's being investigated. Additionally if nothing was done illegal, sounds like a good case study on some new laws that should be implemented.
  14. My wife gave up on it about 1.5 seasons from the end. I couldn't believe it. It was better than BB, but it was a completely different show. She knew that, yet just couldn't reconcile it.
  15. Actually by the actions they took, it appears they weren't corrupted. But yes, he had some serious doubts. Which sidebar, is why he should never be allowed back into the GOP. He sat there and played that 'executive power' bull**** with the 1/6 committee when he truly felt that Trump would have no problem having him killed. He's a power hungry coward that thinks he can somehow win and that's more important than helping ensure Trump never gets near the White House again...pathetic. But back to what you said, yes, Trump wanted people that were more loyal to him. Biden didn't necessarily trust them, just like Pence didn't. But you're talking a small contingent of the presidential detail. It's ridiculous to jump to the conclusion that Trump is at fault and wanted this national advisor dead, hence he somehow turned over and got rid of every SS that wasn't loyal to him in the DC area, not those a part of the presidential team. Then they purposefully let an intruder go in just to land themselves in the hot seat with their bosses.
  16. This is where I get worried though. I want Europe to lead, it's in their backyard, and they certainly have contributed more than I would have originally expected. But I've had two fears with this, 1) this boils up into something much much bigger and is that worth it for a country that honestly doesn't have a lot of foreign value for us or 2) we get to a point like now where Ukraine is showing us something we didn't expect, but now is the US 3D level chess strategy weighing the pro's and con's of helping Ukraine defeat Russia or step back now, let Europe lead because it that'll give a better chance to allow continued fighting with no end in sight, costing Russia even more in terms of military.
  17. Point taken, but note I wasn't giving any opinion on what the headline could indicate, regardless of any bias you may or may not have, but the fact that if you look for your news based on your bias, you're missing legitimate stories, even if the full context of that story might back up your ideas anyway.
  18. ground.news I came across this site via Reddit. Maybe I'm late to the party, but it's interesting. I haven't been on it enough to determine if there are any issues with their process. In short, they use a third party that labels a news outlet as left, right, or center and then they simply point out what is big in the news and a breakdown of who is reporting on it. For instance, the NIH removed funding from the Wuhan lab, it's only being reported by right leaning outlets. There are calls for a GOP member of congress to be arrested for some incident with an activist, that's only being reported by left leaning outlets.
  19. Ro Khanna continues to be sexist as he again calls for Feinstein to retire. The jokes on him though as Feinstein actually has been in DC voting this entire time. https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/reporters-detail-concerning-feinstein-encounter-18103053.php
  20. Trump wasn't competent enough to get a cabinet full of folks that would be loyal supporters to him, yet he somehow turned over about 3000 secret service agents? If he was able to do this and it took the 1/6 investigation to even give an example regarding a few of his direct agents (at the very end of his term, meaning he pulled this off in a few weeks), than I might have to vote for the guy and hope he can get a chief of staff that will put that amazing ability to good use in a second term.
  21. The argument that they hurt accuracy, which logically does make sense to me, makes it even more difficult in defending them. It shows just how 'slippery slope' crazy the GOP and NRA have gotten with guns.
  22. https://www.koaa.com/news/covering-colorado/representative-lauren-boebert-of-colorado-files-for-divorce-campaign-confirms Boebert, tell me you've cheated, without saying you've cheated.
  23. Do you actually believe this or is it just a good talking point so you roll with it?
  24. My buddy just shared this with me. I remember seeing it awhile ago so I wouldn't be surprised if Oblong posted it here before. It's just a rehearsal so the quality isn't great, but fun watching them talk it through and roll with it.
  25. This was an interview. Absolutely it's the job of an interviewer to help facilitate news. I wish more in the media believed this. Unfortunately we've moved into a place where our leaders just put out statements and don't answer to anyone.
