  1. Reason #534 why Trump really is a democrat.
  2. I hope someone is telling Hegseth and Trump this and aren't being pushed out of the room. The Strait is a perfect spot for Iran to focus on, but everything in that Strait is a possible target. Without a doubt i'm confident the US could control all of it if they wanted too and likely make it secure enough to get ships insured and trafficking it, but the cost....holy cow the cost. There is a part of me that hopes there are some backdoor discussions with maybe India or some other Middle Eastern states Iran is willing to talk to on our behalf. In fact I do suspect China and India are talking with Iran to see if there is an arrangement that can be made and will get the US involved when they feel it's appropriate. China and India probably aren't excited to help us out, but Trump screwed this up so bad it's affecting them too and it's sad we need to look to them to help solve this for us.
  3. To be fair, it's essentially a refund of its offshore leases, which the company has agreed to reinvest in LNG production. Apparently there is something going on in the middle east which is obviously Bidens and/or Obama's fault, possibly some of Clinton's fault and of course a little slice of fault from Carter which this administration is working to resolve peacefully and quickly, hence why he's always talked about as a potential nobel winner.
  4. To be fair (watch out for old man rant), these kids don't wear that much in everyday life as it is. I think they had some in MIchigan, maybe they still do. Twin Peaks is (i'm pretty sure) still around in Madison Heights and the food is( or at least was) really good. Last time I was there was probably pre-covid, buddy was in town for work at a hotel next door so he just asked me to meet there. I had no qualms about going, good scenery and good food, I'm in. I didn't realize I had gotten old though and spent most of the time watching how embarrassing most of the other guys were with the staff and that began to assume the staff was probably looking at us the same way.
  5. Opposite, but needed. Unrelated, that Theo dude has a great last name.
  6. Ahh, whatever. Some folks handle these situations differently. I listened to Eli Zharet the other day talk about Mahorn being picked up in the expansion draft after the 1989 title. He never played for Milwaukee and was traded to the 76'ers. If I remember correctly when they first played against each other in 1990, he tried to get Laimbeer to go out to eat, Laimbeer refused. In expected fashion, both sides played hard on the court. Today they are best friends. Respect differences.
  7. He's both, sometimes its evident, sometimes its not that clear. On the ignorant portion, and I hope she doesn't get mad at me, but my wife's grandma (rest in peace) would just take tidbits of information and form them into new 'policies'. So Papa had heart issues and was on a drug which he was told not to eat too many green peas. Apparently too much of a certain vitamin in them that could make the drug more ineffective. Did Grandma understand this....no. Instead she preceded to tell the family that they need to stop eating peas because it's bad for the heart. She didn't lie, cheat, and steal, so it was obvious when she said something like this you could trace it back to some info she got. Unfortunately with Trump, who knows, could be lying about it, could be saying it based on some tidbit he's unable to fully process in his brain, could simply be saying it because at the time it sounded like the best way to retort as he really doesn't care if its true or not.
  8. Let's not get crazy, definitely rooted for team USA. That said, it was cool to see Miggy get fired up with the last batter up.
  9. The lack of coordination, combined with the current pleas for help would be laughable if it were not for the concern that America lives are at risk because of it and globally lives will be lost if we have end up in a recession because of this. One note though, these LCSs, which already were considered failures by a good margin of folks, were specifically designed to be quickly reconfigured for various roles, including anti-mine. A couple of years ago the F-35 had a lot of detractors and I think you're seeing more confidence in that program now. Possible that they turn out to be effective in this front. Still doesn't excuse Trump and his advisors for not being prepared though. Also, they look pretty cool, they got that going for them at least.
  10. Not sure if I'm following you correctly, but it was a huge hit. Maybe it shouldn't be talked like some other movies mentioned in the last 2/3 pages here, but it still had an extremely fun and unique story. If anything I feel I could argue it was under validated because the fact that kids loved it so much I could see some people writing it off as a kids comedy.
  11. Saagar Enjeti on The Bulwark with Tim Miller, I thought this was a great podcast episode and highly recommend it. For those of you that aren't aware of the Bulwark, they are never-Trumper conservatives and Saagar is a conservative that voted for Trump. There is plenty of complaints about Trump though, so there's some incentive for you folks. https://pca.st/0t9iet4m
  12. Key word being 'reported'. As far as I know both the Raiders and Ravens never said anything publicly. Not allowing it to be reported on would be the same as telling beat writers not to talk about trade rumors around a deadline. I imagine we'll know the full story some day, but I am leaning towards the stories that the Ravens got cold feet and scrutinized the physical, although legally I think up until trades can be officially accepted, Ravens had the right to back out. That said, doing so could be considered bush league, just as doing so with a scrutinized physical would be bush league too.
  13. I mean by the end of last year, Montgomery was clearly RB2. Pacheco a solid backup pick. I was assuming we'd get our backup in the 4th / 5th round so this is an upgrade over that line of thinking, at least for the next year.
  14. End of the work day and catching up on the Lions news. OL doesn't look as worrying as it did just yesterday. Figured i'd take that news and go play with a mock draft, with some trades I got: 25 - Emmanual McNeil-Warren - S 50 - Blake Miller - OT 57 - Gabe Jacas - Edge 63 - Keionte Scott - CB 115 - Michael Washington Jr. - RB 157 - Sam Roush - TE 205 - Cole Payton - QB 213 - Reggie Virgil - WR Picked up New England's 2027 3rd round pick too. I would be happy with it, but I also don't truly understand how players from one scheme match up / play in another scheme, so who knows. Figured I'd post it so I can come back after the draft and see if I got at least close on one of my picks.
  15. So who's printing off the 'Trump did that' stickers for all the gas pumps?
  16. One potential large difference is that while 1/2 the population is fine with the leader of their party siphoning off money from tax payers whenever he can, they aren't fine with his underlings doing it (unless they are named Trump at least). I was surprised how much pushback she got from republican senators in her hearing regarding no bid contracts or contracts to questionable entities. I hope Mullin's noticed that and chooses not to be a crook too.
  17. 2FA on email addresses is a must if you're like most people and use email or SMS (text) for your 2FA. For any personal, health, or financial information app/website where you have an account even if don't have 2FA, at least check what methods can be used to verify you. It's possible you have some old phone numbers or email addresses you forgot about still attached. Many people think the words like 'backdoor' refers to some designed hole in the software that lets an attacker access without being seen. While those are legitimate, often 'backdoors' are simply old phone numbers and email addresses that attackers realize aren't in use anymore, but find in leaked data. Then they have all the time in the world trying to gain access to those without anyone noticing. And while Iran might be looking to step up some attacks, that just makes China delighted that the spotlight on them might fade or point elsewhere for a bit. I don't think people truly realize how much China already has infiltrated enterprise and government networks within the United States, probably mostly due to the fact that they aren't infiltrating to cause pain (at least right now) but rather they just keep on trying to dig deeper and learn how we handle it. In short, use this opportunity Edman is pointing out to lower your attack surface, but understand the risk will remain even after this Iran situation cools down.
  18. From a few years ago, but this was just released recently. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you don't like the music, stick around for Joey's mini standup shows between songs.
  19. Part of me wants to say I'm a republican still. I feel like the party moved, not me, so why should I have to classify as something different? But I'm sure that's not completely true anymore. Not sure if I've moderated or if I still fall under classical liberalism.
  20. Absolutely agree with you and I don't want to see Montgomery elsewhere either, but we currently have a gluttony at RB, so from Montgomery's perspective alone, I understand if he wants a deal to protect his family financially. We'll lose our advantage at RB, but if we focus on the offensive line we might still have a solid rushing offense and be able to focus on other areas we can take advantage in.
  21. She knows how to play him.
  22. Dude, I get the dude is an asshat. All I was simply objecting to was this specific statement from you. The FBI is not an American domestic only law enforcement agency. If Patel is not getting daily briefs on security involving the Olympics over the past several weeks, that would be an impeachable offense and far outweigh this silly beer guzzling embarrassment in the locker room.
  23. Yup, I'm not saying they are equal. Just wanted to correct the statement that the FBI only works domestic issues. The vast majority of what they do is domestic, but they absolutely are involved in international affairs and protecting US citizens at a high profile event would definitely be one of them. But 100% there was zero "need" for the director to be there.
  24. Absolutely agree. Only reason he wouldn't have been fired in my administration is because he would have never been allowed to sniff around DC if I was in charge to begin with.
  25. You're probably right about Kash just wanting to be there for the game, but the FBI absolutely has a role outside of the US and Mueller was in Greece ahead of the last Olympics there to consult on security preparations. If something happened to US athletes while in Italy, Kash absolutely would have been partially responsible. All that said, you're absolutely right. He wanted to be there for the Olympics, just like Whitmer.
