  1. my offseason wish list (documented yesterday on the Tweeter) is/was Correa, Stroman and Barnhart. Don't disappoint me, Al.
  2. his one-year deal serves as the bridge to Rogers and Dingler.
  3. Barnhart and Haase, make the perfect platoon, with the LH Barnhart getting the majority of starts.
  4. 100%, but given the dearth of good catchers in the league, I would have thought he'd have more trade value.
  5. McCosky is reporting we gave up Nick Quintana in return. Not sure what Cincy see's in him, but it's awesome that we didn't have to give up anyone of significance in return. He's already been bypassed by Workman and Keith in the 3B mix.
  6. I thought he was a free agent. Way to kick start the offseason, Al! (also, he and Gomes were my top two targets at C). Wonder what we had to give up?
  7. depends on which top-prospects list you subscribe to, but here is MLB Pipeline's. From this group, I'd expect to see Tork, Greene, Kreidler, Wentz and Faedo. Longer shots would be Madden and Olson.
  8. that's why they call it "way too early." I think they based on performance this season, plus momentum--likely younger players who should continue to improve.
  9. kind of meaningless at this point, but ESPN has the Tigers at #16 in their 2022 preseason power rankings. They are ahead of every other team in the division, with the exception of the White Sox (#2). At best, we're going to be playing for a Wild Card the next couple of seasons, but I don't think the White Sox will have as long of a window as we do. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/32515195/way-too-early-2022-mlb-power-rankings
  10. Bullpen, aka, the place for guys who aren’t good enough to be starters.
  11. It’s actually Arm Barn now. I’ve asked the admin here to make bullpen a banned word, like f*** and sh**. And I think the labor unrest is going to push the activity to much later, unfortunately.
  12. Correa likely will get a minimum of 8 years, with an opt-out after 2 or 3 seasons. I predict his annual salary will be at least $30M/yr.
  13. From MLB Trade Rumors regarding surrendering picks for free agent signings:
  14. heck, I'd be OK with losing our 1st pick for him--would be very hard pressed to find a similar talent.
  15. I'll be making my fondue again. Was a hit last year.
  16. so, no baseball in December?!?! that sucks
  17. Has Dave Roberts been fired yet?
  18. Great, thanks. But what about the meaning of life?
  19. Would we surrender if we signed Correa or anyone else with a QO?
  20. Wasn't Coke available, too?
  21. They have a good talent foundation that might elevate them from a perennial wild card, regardless. I don't think they'll necessarily be cheap, if the opportunity arises. We'll learn this very quickly this offseason, though, with the abundance of very good SP and SS available in free agency.
  22. What happened to Motown Sports? Is this temporary, or our new home? Lastly, what is the meaning of life?
  23. If they thought Dingler was an option, they probably would sent him to the AZ Fall League. Based on his struggles in Erie, I’d be surprised if he gets a MLB at-bat next season.
  24. Roberts has mismanaged his pitching staff throughout the playoffs. If the Dodgers win the WS, it will be in spite of him.
  25. Time to bring back shorts.
