  1. Lange is lucky to still be on the roster.
  2. I know Hinch didn't trade him but he played Goodrum and Willie Castro often and barely played Paredas. Maybe he told Al "hell no don't trade him" but I doubt it. BTW Willie Castro is doing much better a a Twin as well. They didn't waste time with Willie at short and second like Hinch did. I'm ok with Hinch but no longer convinced he is as advertised.
  3. Thats a bloody good question. I also wonder if there is such a thing as too much coaching. There isn't much time to think when you're at the plate. Good to have book on the pitchers but the rest seems pretty straightforward ( said the guy that never played the game). G2 has been expressing concerns for some time about the negative effect of "controlling the strike zone" and it does seem that hitters might be over thinking. I think knowing the strike zone is just a skill some players have and some just don't and I don't think it's teachable. I mean do we want Tork and Carpenter focusing on walking ? I want them and all power hitters to eat. Baez has gotten worse every yer under HInch. Parades turned into a HUGH power hitter AFTER HINCH. .512 slugging with a .907 OPS.. HINCH didn't even play him. How can a manager not see that ? He' the best third baseman in the game and third is our weakest position. S*** like that make me wonder and worry about our manager. 4. I think the argument could be made that we bring up all of our position players too quickly.
  5. We're still awaiting the promised "calculated risk".
  6. Your correct. I don’t doubt his hitting and am positively surprised by his range but he has to turn the double play and I have doubts he will be even average. My point is making long term commitments based on projections not production. Not something I would do or support. Not saying I’m correct either. I want us to add proven talent not audition at the big league level. I still support Harris and less so Hinch but my concern is growing and my patience thin. Harris gets time but he can’t ignore the past years either.
  7. Exactly so let Lange loose now and Hinch at the close of the year but yikes I forgot he got an extension for not winning anything. Kind of like the cat that got 26 million who had never played one inning in the big leagues and did not have a position he could play. Well I guess he's doing ok at second unless you require your second baseman to turn double plays. But what's an extra out or a few rallies between buds.
  8. You forgot "runway"..get with it.
  9. They can leave Lange in KC he's not worth the ticket home.
  10. You mean traded away a GREAT one.
  11. Max-McGonigle-Briceno-Jobe. is this the "true" core of our next winning team ? Do you think Harris thinks that it is ?
  12. I think he’s been playing the outfield for a couple years, but I could be wrong
  13. That’s good. Me either.
  14. I remember Andy Dirks saying last year that Went's fastball just isn't good enough to get away with any mistakes. I think the more he pitches the more he will be exposed. He's made a nice adjustment to his off speed stuff that helps but without a solid fastball or one real good pitch hitters will expose you.
  15. Do you think AJ Hinch part of Avila's stink ?
  16. I think that's fair depending on your meaning of "contention" which I assume is having a real chance to make the playoffs throughout the summer even if falling short. This off season has some free agents that fit needs ( Bregman, Adames )but as always there are risks with that so Harris has his work cut out for him. But it needs to start with the left side of the infield. No more rotating/platooning/gap filling/ position changing etc, waiting for a rookie to take off from the "runway" or hoping Baez morphs back into ElMago.
  17. Hope Olsen recovers quickly
  18. The fan intensity here in the OC is way milder than Detroit. Baseball is just one of many entertainment options not a "soul passion" like Detroit. It seems strange to me still after 25 years but not weird anymore. In a way Trout seems the same way which is why he wants to stay. You would think a Philly kid would kill to win. I guess the zen got to him. The problem here is the owner who the fans would love to get rid of. Total incompetence. It was cool to see Ohtani and the stands were filled with his jersey. Huge asian population in the OC. That I miss but what really sucked is I would attend almost every Tiger game with my loud mouth only to eat crow almost every game. Detroit plays terrible here. Really bad. Like the Porcello game bad. I miss Tiger stadium.
  19. Jace looks like a linebacker to me. Hope he hits like one in the Majors.
  20. I’m sure you’re correct and I agree having both is outstanding. I think we got McMonigle with money saved from passing on Langford. Not sure if that’s correct but in my mind it was two for one.
  21. I think he is better than Clark.
  22. He’s a Boras client heading to free agency. Enjoy him while you can. I would be at least doing due diligence about what he could bring on trade.
  23. Can he drive in 5 runs in one game like Baez. 😊
  24. Yes. Which is why you have to play him through 2025. The upside potential is worth waiting for. Even as a DH.
