and there it is. lions trade a 6th round pick to the jets for mims and a 7th round pick. hopefully this isnt another trinity benson situation.
-
reportedly the lions and jets are having trade talks on mims...

i know this season is tough as a tigers' fan (although i would argue it was quite expected and what really matters is greene doing well and improvement from tork), but as a card carrying member of the tigers diaspora sitting in chicago, it has been AWESOME to watch the white sox go down in absolute flames. yes, i am a hater. proud of it. i was terrified that the sox had finally done the right thing and rebuilt the right way quickly, but almost everything they've done has turned to dust. eloy? injured and lazy. moncada? "injured" and lazy. lynn? fat. vaughn? average. tim anderson? worried about instagram more than his fading abilities. and the best part was them hiring tony larussa right during their peak window. chef's kiss! it is has been a glorious fall. swift and lovely. -

nothing increases your value on the trade market like throwing a no hitter! -
i saw that too. athletic has us just missing. i think jfresh has tampa and pittsburgh missing too. and LA. i'll believe it when i see it. buffalo has to make a move up the standings this year, one would think.
-
athletic's model has the wings improving the second most of any team this year. they were the biggest improvers last year too.
-
my bad. i'm scarred by del's continuing anti-french attitude. 🙂

my buddy's mom bought a house in the LA burbs for about $20k back in the 60s. she now pays next to nothing in property taxes on a house worth $1.5 million. and its not even a nice house! getting there when the dodgers got there turned out to be quite lucrative.

according to zierline, coming out of college mims was a speed burner who had issues getting off press coverage and questionable "compete." maybe the compete level just isnt there to make it in the nfl?
-
totally false. my wife and daughter are there right now having a wonderful time, as we always do. and kind of ironic coming from someone with "new york" in their title.
-
i love listening to JEIII complain that people think he's a mouthpiece for the organization. ummm...people will probably stop saying that when you criticize one thing that weaver has done. his only MILD criticism has been the bagley contract, which is the lowest of low hanging fruit. pistons writers are like pravda workers.
-
he should go back to his awesome country rather than staying in a **** hole like new york city.
-
hollinger in the athletic on the summer league underachievers: pistons frontcourt also a special mention for jaden ivey playing poorly. i would put an asterix on that. ivey played poorly when duren and wiseman were on the floor at the same time. no spacing. and everyone's play decreases when wiseman is on the floor because he is a black hole on offense and oblivious on defense.

let's not lose sight of the party who suffered a very real injury as a result of this tweet: the English language.
-
they've now filed suit, unsurprisingly. in other news, a "class action" against the cpd just netted a $5 million settlement. of the original 35 plaintiffs, 30 dropped out. the remaining five will split $120k. the lawyers will net 4.8 million. it will be the same here. as usual, the plaintiff's lawyers will make millions and the plaintiff's themselves will make nothing. which is fitting considering they have no real injuries from being "hazed."

who the hell is brandon dixon? -
then again, chicago ran kane/toews/debrincat out there with good success...
-
me neither. a lot of those prospect lists are like that. smaller guys who dazzle against lesser competition and put up huge numbers, but when they get into the league they are checked out of existence, or at least back to reality. the smaller ice and the bigger players makes the nhl more of a big man's league. that's why i dont understand people thinking raymond and debrincat are going to be on the same line, that seems like an awfully small line to go up against other teams' biggest defenders. maybe at home when we have the last change (which i think someone else mentioned earlier), but not regularly. i expect to see rasmussen and/or perron paired with them.
-
all around center who can play defense, drive play, and create for others? sounds like jonathan toews.
-
as usual with prospect rankings, there's an (over)emphasis on skilled wingers. especially small skilled wingers. yzerman seems to take the team building approach of getting big defensemen and centers. then let the wingers come in free agency because theyre easier to find there.
