so toronto signs bert, klingberg, and domi. totally stacked offensively. but they still dont play any defense and arguably just got worse in that department. not sure this solves their problem even if it does make them a better offensive play off team (if bert stays healthy).

he's going to miami. they've been dumping salary to make room. i imagine this was known before the draft. which makes the grant signing puzzling, other than they want to make him the "veteran" presence. so much for all of grant's talk about wanting to be in a "black" city like detroit. once again, the only color that matters is green.

not sure why lindstrom needs to come back. goalie signings are bridges to cossa (hopefully). others are depth. sprong is a good gamble for offense.

the vrana saga is puzzling. trading hronek for two top picks at the peak of his value was a good deal, imo. my question is why spend so much last year rather than ride it out again, get a better pick, and continue to build up the system? with THAT said, as ive said before, if bert were healthy and vrana sober, this team might have snuck up on the 8th seed.
