I don't love it but I don't hate it when compared to the other stars that might get traded (Lavine, Ingram, etc). Yes, he's soft as hell, but that's less of an issue now that he plays mostly PF instead of Center. He'd also be a really nice spacing fit next Cade. His defense has improved a lot, but then again I'm not sure he'll give that kind of effort on a losing team.

Not sure I'd burn all the cap for it, but maybe a large portion of it. However much the TWolves need to get just under that second apron.

You need the rest of that money to make a couple more moves. Bring in Claxton and make a hard push, including Ivey/Duren and a future first to get Mikal.

    Cade/Sasser?
    Mikal/Grimes
    Tech/Ausar
    KAT/Stew
    Claxton/Stew

i dont know how they can get mikael and kat since theyre only able to trade this year's #1.  maybe minny just wants the pick and nothing else and brooklyn really loves ivie and duren?

the bottom line is that there will be plenty of other teams that can top our offers because those teams will have their full compliment of #1 picks to trade/swap.  all we have is potentially the #1 pick in a terrible draft.

You're both right. You need to hit on your top picks and you also need to find great complimentary players late in the draft. Minnesota has done both. So has OKC and Orlando.

Pistons probably hit with Cade, but they've done little else.

the really hit with ant.  kat is a complimentary guy, but a good one.  and a good regular season player.  he's just the softest player in the league.  someone else has to have the ball in their hands and the balls to play physical.  its obvious ant is that type of guy.  kat is not.

when they tried to build around kat they went nowhere.

Look at Minnesota. Ant is the straw that stirs the drink. But Gobert picked 27. McDaniels picked 28. Alexander-Walker picked 17. Reid was undrafted. All play a huge role in the teams success. None were even lottery picks.

KAT was also the #1 pick.

Hammond is 70 and recently moved to a senior advisor role for the Magic.  I doubt he wants the grind of being in charge at his age.

I am shocked Tim Connelly is available, but I keep seeing his name pop up occasionally.  He would be my first pick of names mentioned.  GM of the Nuggets from 2013-22 and now GM of the Timberwolves.

I would still be blowing up Bob Myers phone.  But since his name is never mentioned I think I better give up on that one.

connelly may want to escape the twolves' messed up ownership situation...

yet....if so....why would he want to come to a spot with the least successful owner in the last 15 years?  stability?

They are going to talk about that game from Franz for a long time.

Orlando had two guys in the starting lineup combine to go 3-28 from the field in game 7.  Ouch.

franz's big game choke continues.  as michigan fans know, his 0-11 against ucla cost them a trip to the final four.

Can you elaborate on the differences?

theyre the most popular team in canada and also the most hated.  they have the biggest budget.  they are all the canadian media ever talk about and are constantly the focus of reporting.  their players live in a fishbowl.  they are overrated every year by their kiss ass media in toronto, the same media that dominate the sport's coverage so its all they talk about.

and the one team that actually did win all the time - the one team that can rival the yankees for sustained success - is in a market that speaks a different language than the rest of the country: montreal.

I felt a twinge of empathy going into OT but knew full well I would regret showing any compassion if the Leafs ended up scoring.

just imagine how unbeliveably obnoxious they would be if they won.

i guess their announcer was WRONG that this time they were going to win it?  lol.

Have to admit the sadistic side of my brain and my merciful side were duelling it out during the OT intermission.  Can’t say I’m sad about the outcome though, but man, how much crushing losses can one fan base take.

i hope they take 1000 more losses like this.

I'd take Allen and Mobley on the Pistons.  I was hoping the Pistons traded down from 1-1 in order to draft Mobley plus get other stuff.

    cade is better than mobley.

I don't know, when you start assaulting fans - twice in one incident - that's a major line you've crossed. Very different from choking out a fellow employee (although I think Draymond should've been suspended for the entire season for that). I have to imagine that the league still has PTSD from the Malice at the Palace. If I'm Silver I set an example an suspend him for the entire next season.

silver has been very weak with player discipline so far.  he's let them do whatever they want for the most part.

At some point apologies don't cut it. When it's the same person, acting the same way, over and over again apologies mean absolutely nothing and further actions are required.

agreed, but seeing how the league ignores draymond do you really think they'll do anything with patbev?  maybe suspend him for a game.  since he did it to a female reporter maybe they'll make it three games?
