  1. but you get the joy out of watching a game and rooting for an outcome. again, YOU dont do it, so you cant imagine why anyone else could get any enjoyment from it.
  2. i bet $5-$10 here and there. i dont think that makes me "wired" for something or not. sounds more like you never do it so you struggle to understand why others do and get enjoyment from it.
  3. meh, i can make my own choices. so can you. addiction to anything can be awful, i dont see legalized sports gambling in america as any worse than alcohol (in fact, much less worse). most countries all over the globe have legalized gambling and sports are intertwined with that. north america has its own little brand of puritanical protestantism that looks down its nose at anything fun or even fun adjacent. to me, this is a product of our national prudery.
  4. addiction to anything can be bad for you. addiction to alcohol can actually kill you.
  5. lol. and? do you win money on beer? i gamble on sports book sites. i've probably "lost" $100 in the last two years. four people at a sporting event can spend that on beers for one game! lol. the pearl clutching is over "addiction." if so, why not be as concerned about alcohol ads?
  6. if you hate sports betting ads because it might cause addictive behavior, you must get really upset every time you see a beer ad during a game.
  7. bad news: boston won good news: golden state lost

  11. yes....as long as the best player in the league is your first! 😀
  12. don't be silly, nobody moderates the political forum. 😀
  13. nazar is too small for me. savoie too. the wings are already really small and not very physical. they get pushed around all the time. i'd rather take one of the defensemen if one falls. i know we need a second line center, but being able to grab ANOTHER potential big, agile, puck moving defenseman is too good to pass up, imo. and someone will fall to them. someone always falls. if they do go forward and most of the big names are gone, take kasper. maybe gauthier. both are bigger guys. and then sign copp.
  14. https://www.wingedwheelpodcast.com/post/if-i-were-steve-yzerman-2022-edition-part-3 prashanth's draft preview. he likes nazar.
  15. no thanks. very boring basketball to watch. i'm not a huge fan of all of today's three or layup bball, but its better than those "first one to 70 wins" slogs of that period.
  16. 69-65 is a halftime score today.
  17. because they need a center more than a wing, especially if they signed forsberg. look, its just a pipedream that's not going to happen. although bert to the leafs for mrazek plus a boatload of picks and young players make sense for both teams. i dont think the leafs move nylander, but they do have younger players and draft picks to give up. especially if the wings take mrazek off their hands.
  18. trocheck or copp simply because they are desperate to get a second line center. i'm more open to copp because he's younger and is a good defensive player. they have so much cap room they can probably go higher per year with those guys than some others. but larkin's deal needs to get done. i would expect him to get 8-9 mil per year. part of me would like to see them sign forsberg and trade bertuzzi for mrazek and nylander, but that's just wishful thinking. i think we move bert and probably stand pat for at least one more year.
  19. in all the years i watched the cubs, i thought the exact same thing.
  20. https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2022/05/30/nhl-power-rankings-top-potential-free-agents-for-2022-offseason/ a bunch of meh, really. we're just not at the point to go get any of the top guys, imo.
  21. who wouldnt want to get out of that mess?
