i wouldnt either. but that's probably the biggest impact player you can get for ivey. better off paying ivey and seeing if he develops into a less selfish lavine.
-
would you trade ivey for zach lavine? the bulls would do that in a heartbeat.

i have a number of direct reports in the philly area who despite my best efforts are flyers fans. one of them went to the game last night and said the wings were just dead. small, and not physical. pushed around. lackadaisacal. imo that's a recipe to fire the coach. weve all said we know about the roster although we have different opinions on why. i give yzerman more benefit of the doubt than others because i see the organization he took over as one of the worst of all time. with that said, its hard to argue with results. and the results of copp, compher, chairot, holl, gustaffson, tarasenko, dealing walman, not re-signing perron (which i thought was smart), dealing maata, etc have resulted in a terrible, talentless roster. i still put the majority of blame for that on kenny holland and zadina, veleno, cholowski, and rasmussen. those guys should be the foundation right now and - as we know - they are either out of the league or not very good. regardless, this season is a waste. trade off anything that isnt young and move forward. and hope against hope for some lottery luck.
-
oh hell no.
-
boston without jalen brown and jason tatum are nothing. both were top 5 picks. you have to get lucky and find one of those guys. the pistons have one in cade. they need another and that other will most likely only come via a top 5 pick. theyve been unlucky in the lottery. unless they get lucky theyre likely screwed. picking 10th definitely decreases their chances exponentially.
-
true. they look like one of the worst teams in the league this year.
-
on another level? they beat them in OT at home in week one when the rams were without half their starting lineup including both starting tackles and kupp (iirc). and they beat them in the playoffs last year thanks to a blatantly missed PI call. the rams and stafford are very dangerous if healthy. i'd much rather play the vikings and sam darnold, purdy and an injured niners team, or the packers who weve already beat twice. i want no part of the eagles or the rams.
-
very worried about the rams. want no part of them. go seahawks.
-
more of the same: not good enough. no more puck luck like last year.
-
because cade is the only player on this team worth paying. the rest are bit players. what this team needs is another #1 pick in a generational draft. without it, they will be what you see today for the forseeable future. ivey is a nice player, but not a max player. duren hasnt developed beyond andre 2.0. holland and ausar are role players at best. they must, must, MUST tank to get a top player in this draft or else this is what they will be forever: a max 6 seed at best with cade ending his piston career getting traded for second rounders when he's 32 so he can go "chase a ring."
-
no.
-
the smart play is for them to enter the portal every year. be a constant free agent. this will be ended when either the ncaa takes charge (hahahaha) or they sign a collective bargaining agreement.
-
cossa was all over the place. same problem that plagued him earlier in his career: poor positioning and getting dragged out of place at the drop of a hat. that said, youre probably right that nerves played a role. and he did he really well in the shootout.
-
i think the pistons will "learn to win" when they have enough talent to win. if beasley has playes his way out of a contract in detroit, they should deal him if the deal is right.
-
but they already have basketball leagues in europe.
-
since when did michael rasmussen stop hitting and checking?
-
that didnt look like the same team. maybe its just because they were playing buffalo? but they were moving the puck up the ice, getting it out of the zone, firing shots, cycling in the other team's zone. where has this been all year? they looked like a different team on offense. yeah, must be buffalo. otoh, they looked like the same team on defense. is there a team in the league that has worse forwards on defense? how many times do we need to see motte, berggren, and then holl get beat on the backside for rebound goals? granted, husso was atrocious and would probably be in grand rapids if lyons and talbot werent injured but COME ON. you cant win games when your goalies play like that. but hey, at least they finally won a game.

look at all that wasted money. tobias harris makes $26 million. smh.

Michigan Football 2024 aka The Year Michigan has to Defend a Natty
buddha replied to romad1's topic in College Sports
as a member of one of those fanbases, i say i dont care. it will get ok ratings because its michigan alabama, but not massive ratings because it means nothing, the best players wont play, and its on new years eve. i wonder what the bowl game ratings will look like this year with all the focus on the playoff? this one will probably get the highest non-playoff ratings. maybe. they played a few years ago in a bama second half beatdown of shea patterson and i doubt many people watched. -

michigan alabama again? sheesh. who cares. -
anyone who believes anything ja morant has to say should have their head examined.

at this rate beasley might get us a first rounder at the deadline. of course, we wont teade him because we really want to make the play-in game... hooray for the 8th (or 10th) seed!
-
beasley is what fontechio was supposed to be. not sure if the knicks took this game seriously. sat KAT. this is the type of game KAT thrives on: nonpressure against a bad team with a center (duren) who cant cover stretch bigs. team scores 120 without deadweight ausar on the floor? i'm stunned. 🙂

he had two top 2 picks: stamkos and hedman. and then was able to rip off the caps for a third difference maker and drafted vasilevski in round one. braden poynt was lucky, everything else wasnt. we'll see if cossa turns into vasilesvski. but he hasnt had a top two pick here. that's the real diffrlerence.

i think so too. but its more a roster issue, imo. every move they made this offseason has backfired. every addition to the team has been bad (tarasenko, motte, gustaffson) and every player they moved on from has been good (ghost, walman). again, whatever former red wing is in charge of nhl scouting deserves to be fired. i understand the draft. i even understand that the average time for a second round pick to make the nhl is 4 to 5 years, so were right on the timeline for our bevy of so-called failed second rounders to make it soon. but to let walman and ghost and even perron go to sign this group has been the difference between last year almost making the playoffs and this year being a surefire lottery team.
