pride of detroit did a "grit index" for who the lions would pick. williams wasnt even close to being at the top. he was toward the bottom. nobody knows nothin'.

dt was a huge need this year and especially long term. i post "pundit" stuff because its a fun talking point, but i dont really believe they know more than most gms do. but its what makes the draft so fun. to laugh at the bears and to wonder what the heck brad holmes is going to do next. to fall in love with prospects and have brad holmes break your heart every year. draft grades right after the draft are dumb. dumb fun.

hopefully he learned a little bit about leverage this year. he was god awful and almost unplayable last year.

right. as soon as michigan's season turned south, he got too injured to play. sure jan. most likely, his slow 40 time and constant ability to get burned by double moves dropped his stock. he's big and not fast and doesnt like to tackle. he's a zone corner in the nfl.

lions value run defense more than most folks, so it makes sense thry like williams more than most folks.

brad holmes has shown he knows how to draft, so i think we'll all end up liking this pick at some point.

he's a fun follow. and like most of those guys, he's wrong most of the time.

and campbell. draft grades are stupid. but fun.

theyre going to need defensive tackles after this year, so in that way it makes sense to get one. the lions value run stuffers more than most teams in the league, so that males sense too. like a couple years ago with gibbs and campbell, the lions like who they like and dont seem to care about traditional positional rankings. and for the bpa crowd: the lions took a position of need in defensive tackle. i assume he was one of the top players on their board, but this is a position of need.

Detroit Lions: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State – D Grade I said we’d see some bizarre picks in the 20s, and here we go. Tyleik Williams was a mid-second-round prospect at best, so I don’t understand why Detroit drafted him at No. 28. This is a reach. It’s not an insane reach, but definitely a reach. There were definitely better options at this spot.
