i think duren's defense and ausar's shooting will be exploited in the playoffs. heavy doses of doubles for cade. lots of instances where duren gets sucked outside on d and has to move his feet. lots of rotations that leave ausar open to shoot. the playoffs are when coaches really matter. we'll see if JB can step up. the "rah rah" detroit v everybody stuff works in the grind, but not when the other team is actively trying to beat you every night. i think that's when they'll really miss ivey. somebody else who can get his own shot.

i dont disagree with you, although i think he's been better than "fine" in drafting. but the results on the ice are the results on the ice. not good enough.

if the pistons played the knicks in the playoffs and beat them, cade would get a lot of attention really quick.

ottawa signed linas ullmark and we signed cam talbot. i still think this entire season boils down to letting replacing ghost, walman, and perron with tarasenko, motte, and gustafsson. the BIG PICTURE future of the wings hasnt changed and is still on a positive trajectory. but THIS SEASON was a failure because those signings have been awful and the team quit on lalonde.

up 30 with 7 minutes left in the game and we have our first marcus sasser sighting.

if soderblom becomes mantha or ras he is a great 6th round pick. that would be an amazing result. i cant ever see him becoming what mantha was when mantha wanted to play hard (which, as we know, didnt occur all that much). but if he becomes a solid third line checking forward who offers a little offense now and then, that's a win. that's much more of an indictment on rasmussen than soderblom considering where they were drafted.

but he doesnt DO anything really. the best soderblom we saw was when he was on the checking line with rasmussen and copp (i think it was copp at C), when his whole job was to forecheck. he doesnt do much on the first line. he doesnt drive play. he's very slow. he has great hands and is huge. he is a plus bottom six winger. that's a great find! he's a plus pick! but if he wants to be tomas holmstrom, he has to get physical, nasty, and go to the net. be a pest. he's still too soft for a guy that big. he should be ragdolling people. maybe he takes too many lessons from ras and not enough from watson?

i think he was hurt by the fact that he has no vision. dude runs into the back of his olinemen on every other play. speed merchant. thats it. i might take a flyer on him as a third down back.

seeing phoenix suck warms the cockles of my heart. some team will bail them out and give them a ton of picks for durant. i just hope its not us. i wouldnt mind durant, but at his age you dont sell the entire future to get him.
