seriously. the lions have been a top 5 offense for three seasons when he's been in charge, went 15-2 this year, and then they lose a playoff game becuase of jared goff turnovers and injuries on defense and the guy is suddenly a bum. come on. he's one of the best play callers in the league. tip your hat, buy him a beer, and wish him nothing but pain and misery in chicago.

i couldnt care less about this game. football is dead to me after saturday.

love it when cade outplays jalen green.

i'd be worried about lavine coming here for all the reasons ive stated before: selfish, plays no defense, opted out last year rather than play, will think this is "his team" and thus make even more selfish decisions. plus, where does ivey fit in next year? on the positive side, it would give them a dynamic scorer that they lack. he's kind of like a bigger kyrie irving, but more reluctant to pass. if kyrie and luka can coexist in dallas, why cant lavine and cade coexist here? the fit with lavine, ivey, and cade would be really awkward and i dont see how they make it work with them being on the court at the same time. unless they just want to eschew defense altogether and just try to outscore teams. or do you then move ivey for a rim protector? and if they got lavine they would be capped out, right? im not sure about that but i think theyre right up against it next year. youre trading interior defense and hustle for expensive superstar offense. in the long run, superstar offense is harder to come by. but i still have reservations about taking lavine and his deal.

new coach bump was fun while it lasted.

would you make that deal?

this is not part of any "process". youre trying to put a narrative on a series of random events. its a human thing to do but the 90s red wings are not some blueprint for every detroit team that gets good. this wasnt their year because of injuries to the defense. they may never have "a year". it happens.

copp/1st round/wallinder would be a dream deal for detroit. buffalo would likely want kasper or cossa. but who knows!
-
dude, its buffalo. they also traded jack eichel, and sam reinhardt, and casey mittlestadt (who sucks now but you get my point, right?) buffalo drafts very high every year, mismanages their cap and roster, hires bad coaches, and then ends up starting over by trading really good young players about to enter their prime for draft picks. rinse. repeat. i hope we could pull cozens for rasmussen and a pick. 1) it wouldnt work salary wise without other corresponding moves; and 2) someone else would beat that offer. cozens is signed to a longer term deal so its not like buffalo will lose him for nothing. this isnt debrincat. we'll see. theyre playing pretty well without cozens so maybe they decide to stay put? cozens at $7.1 av is a gamble and perhaps they can get buffalo to take less because of it?

So the department of education says title ix applies to NIL. lol. so now your nil money has to be equitably distributed between mens and womens sports. bwaaaahaahaa. let the cheating RECOMMENCE!
-
which of those guards would you take over cade?
-
and they tried to bring kasper up much earlier but he broke his kneecap in his first game.
-
that's the funniest thing you've said in a while. 🙂

ok. the "#8 overall pick" thing is dumb. who cares where he was picked? he was over drafted. so what? and he got to move up in the draft AND didnt have to suck up salary cap space to pay him. great move. now if you'll excuse me i need to go listen to viqueens podcasts to get my daily dose of schadenfreude .
-
great to see the overrated viqueens lose. also good to see matt stafford win another playoff game!
-
iirc, most smart lions fans were happy with that trade. not many wanted to make hockenson the highest paid te in football. and the real win was holmes taking the draft picks from the trade.
-
luka isnt so light anymore. get in shape luka.
-
this is the nfl. this game is a long way from being over. my $5 rams moneyline is looking solid!
-
sam darnold sucks. even with an amazing wr corps and a decent oline he cant do anything. the vikings should be running the damn ball all game. too late now.
-
luka light. imagine if we had wemby too like we should have had.
-
keep him the press box in case someone gets hurt.
-
napoleon. napolean sounds like the latest alternate meat burger. sam darnold is who we thought he was. i'd much rather play the vikings than the rams or washington.

cowboys are a pretty talented team but are very injured. that said, i dont think jerry picks coaches who could be successful because that will take the spotlight away from jerry jones. he takes milquetoast yes men who the rest of the league regards as mediocre, that way if the cowboys win jerry wont have to share the credit. ask jimmy johnson. maybe he'll finally change his ways? i doubt it but you never know, he's getting really old. it doesnt seem like a fit for ben johnson but none of us really know what he wants. he's interviewed with new england (young qb, stable front office, not a lot of talent on the team), the bears (young qb, average talent, stable but horrible ownership), the raiders (no qb, some young talent, no gm, terrible ownership...but tom brady), and jacksonville (youngish qb, some talent, potential gm roadblock, and bad ownership). there's no real pattern. everyone speculating on what he might do or want is just guessing. would jerry hire deion? he's not thought of as a football savant so that's ok with jerry, but he's also famous and would be the most spotlighted coach in the league. so not ok with jerry. if the pattern holds, jerry will hire someone obscure who he can push around. if it doesnt, he could look to ben johnson as the best candidate available. i wouldnt be surprised to see someone like jim caldwell turn up in searches. quiet, minority, not seen as a threat, experience, some success in the past.
