  1. I think if I were the coach and absent the info given in camp/preseason about who is playing well and gelling together, I think this is what I would try: Mazur - Larkin - Raymond DeBrincat - Kasper - Kane JVR - Danielson - Appleton Rasmussen/Soderblom - Copp - Compher/Tralmaks I'm a bit wary Copp is going to be fully ready to go to start the season though, and Mazur + Danielson will probably start in Grand Rapids. It would be my actual preference for one of MBN or Lombardi having an unreal camp to steal that first line LW spot.
  2. I don't think it is too deep, Rogan is a dumbass grifter and always has been
  3. I honestly wouldn't mind Nate breaking in on the wing himself, but ideally to me they both play center. I imagine Danielson is an in-season call up though.
  4. I cannot wait for Nate to be a Wing
  5. Agree with you, no thanks if a first or top prospect is involved
  6. For me, yes someone will sign him but no I don't want him on the Wings
  7. https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/detroit-red-wings/latest-news/nhl-insider-says-red-wings-leading-race-to-land-penguins-rust Probably means it won't happen, I feel like all Wings trades outside of DeBrincat have come out of nowhere.
  8. It is already extremely tough to get convictions in these cases and it seems like the prosecution did a horrible job on top of that. I'm not looking forward to the online discourse surrounding this now, that's for sure.
  9. Daniel Sprong signs in the KHL with CSKA, will be teammates with Buchelnikov
  10. Sounding like Eddie Genborg will play for Sweden in the summer showcase, looking forward to seeing how he does
  11. What an unhinged post about Anzalone dear lord
  12. fwiw I recalled you making the post during the playoffs (it was disappointing overall for the team honestly) so I got what you meant. I just figured I'd give a take / non-take about the Kasper/Danielson stuff since cruzer had touched on it and I'm really bored today.
  13. Comparing Danielson and Kasper's Griffins stints is a tough one for me. Kasper didn't really get an offseason going into that year and obviously started slow. But he also had the advantage of playing against men already in Sweden plus the Griffins team around him was much better. I think he played with Berggren mostly who is a very good AHL player. Danielson was on a much worse team and was basically asked to be their best player (top line center, pk and pp). Having Watson as your main winger is a tough ask and they didn't really have a defender good at breaking the puck out, they really missed Johansson and Edvinsson back there. So it is tough for me to say who was "better" but I think they both had pretty solid seasons respectively.
  14. Ya it is a shame he's so passive. Anton Johansson is a wildcard as well, maybe he's something in a season or two. Seems like he has a decent knack for a breakout pass and plays meaner.
  15. I didn't realize this was a thing, double slide is a nice option
  16. Cossa is still on the same development path as Askarov so I'm certainly not concerned yet Agree with Max on the defensemen comparisons, Tuomisto just doesn't have the footspeed to keep up in the NHL in my opinion
  17. Can’t wait for him to score a hat trick against the Wings opening night.
  18. Ya I agree with Shin, he had some stuff to clean up but I remember him being a pretty elite prospect overall. I'm still very excited about him (shocker I know). I went back to watch some scouting videos to refresh my memory and I got caught up in the rabbithole of his highlight videos for a bit 😆. His athleticism at his size really is tantalizing when he is on.
  19. I didn't realize Wheeler had Fowler over Augustine in his rankings. Interesting choice since it seems like internationally Augustine seems to get the nod over Fowler.
  20. Askarov went for a top 10 protected first round pick, a solid forward prospect (32nd overall pick by vegas originally, profile reads like a Danielson type) and a former 5th round pick goalie prospect who seems to be settling into the AHL at age 24. Askarov is probably one of the top goalie prospects in the last 10 years or something like that so less than that for sure. Not sure where I would place his "exact" value myself. My guess would be a second round pick + a Max Plante type prospect or solid roster player but even typing that out gave me the impression I'm probably way off. I could see his actual value above or below that honestly. A lot of gm's love toolsy goalies like that but also goalie development is weird as hell and scares teams.
  21. God he looks like he is 13 years old!
  22. I feel like Larkin is pretty fairly paid myself haha. It's just nice because it isn't an overpay.
