  1. Despite the Wild driving a lot of the play I thought the Wings had a great chance to win that game. The goals against felt really frustrating because they felt preventable if defenders and Talbot weren't going scramble mode. But it's tough to argue with getting a point on the road on a back to back.
  2. Lower body is all I've seen, no clue what happened
  3. Non-joking, I'd rather do a package of picks and a different prospect than give up Danielson in a Thomas trade. I honestly have no idea what Thomas' value is on the trade market. He's an intriguing piece at his age and contract and I think he'd be a great addition to the Wings. Top 10 protected first round pick, second round pick (or two), maybe a future first with top 5 protection? Maybe you can entice them with Plante's great season so far? Feels like it would need to be more than Vegas got for Hertl but maybe I'm wrong?
  4. Outside of his work with Santana I've never been a huge fan
  5. Second shutout in a row for Postava. Shoutout to grand rapid's defensemen and new goaltending coach!
  6. 1-1 after one in Toronto. Leafs scored before I had the game on, Wings tied it up with less than a minute left. Seider and Raymond combined to get out of their zone after a faceoff, nice rush ended up in a Raymond to Edvinsson goal.
  7. "After Jonas Brodin's unfortunate injury, Simon Edvinsson could be next in line to join the Olympic squad."
  8. Fwiw from what I've seen this season Cossa passes the eye test as well, for me at least. I'm easy to please though.
  9. The Wings probably have the strongest Goaltender pool in the league overall It's honestly nuts how well almost everyone is playing...
  10. Sherwood was scary to me if you were counting on him for anything outside of a lot of hits. 121 career points in 309 games, shooting the highest shooting percentage of his career. For a guy who doesn't seem to drive play and is supposed to be a complimentary player, having only two assists at 5 on 5 this season is crazy (six total!). I'm not saying he's a bad piece I just was not sure he really adds what the Wings are missing.
  11. Just gotta focus on the cap going up 😂 Trades starting to happen I guess
  12. I think there's a chance he could bounce back in the right situation. He's obviously not built to be the go-to guy on a team and not a leader. If Vancouver retains a bit of money (they would need to with their reported asking price, 1st round pick + top 2 center + another asset) and a team slotted him on their second line maybe he finds his offense again. Detroit has a handful of Swedish guys that might make him feel comfortable, and vets who can handle leadership and the media. It is no doubt risky as hell and not ideally what I would want to do. It's just tough to acquire high end talent and if they can somehow use his current play/slump to make it happen I think I'd be for the swing at a first, danielson and another mid prospect. He also has a NMC so it'll be interesting to see if anything even comes of it. Plus Seravalli is wrong A LOT
  13. I've been talking myself into EP lately because it feels like an attainable asset. Still a scary proposition though.
  14. He also has been telling teams he wants to go to unrestricted free agency for the first time and won't extend. I'm sure Tater would have been thrilled if the Wings traded for half a season of Anderson and he bolted after they didn't win the cup. My dads turned into this type of fan where he rips on Yzerman for not doing the impossible (was very bent out of shape they didn't get Marchment when the Stars admitted they shopped him to only two teams), people think this is just a video game and you can force any trade or signing you want, it is crazy.
  15. Maybe it is just me but I feel like Larkin has looked.....pretty bad the last few weeks from what I've seen? Routinely losing his assignment in the defensive zone, things like that. I don't know if he's hurt or what but at the very least the team seems like they can win without him playing his best so that's good. I feel like the wings largely have been sitting ASP late even when he seems to be having a stronger game. I don't know if they're managing his workload since I don't think he's ever played this many games especially against heavier competition or if it is just purely a lack of trust. It seems like they just roll Seider - Edvinsson then Johansson with one of them for late stages of games.
  16. Hopefully this gets Marco going, I thought he looked good overall tonight
  17. Marco f'n Kasper, that was beautiful
  18. Always a fun time when the racism wing fights with the antisemitism wing. Imagine being on the same side of these people and thinking you aren't human scum.
  19. Good work down low, gets in good position for his shot Lombardi back
  20. Would be a big blow if Chiarot missed meaningful time
  21. No thanks on Arthur Smith. In my eyes he seems like someone who thinks they're a lot smarter than they are and he seems like he gets obsessed with random JAGs instead of feeding his top talent (which once again feels like he thinks he knows better than everyone else). Maybe I'm off since I'm probably coming from a fantasy football slant but I've never been a fan of the guy.
