  1. As much as I love Whitaker, he is not in the same class as Verlander. Whitaker should be in the Hall of Fame based on having been very good for so long, but he never had an MVP type season. Verlander has longevity and he also had multiple years where he was the best pitcher in baseball.
  2. There is no maybe... unless he fails a PED test, gambles on a game he is pitching in or has relations with an underage girl.
  3. They don't have pitch clock bets.
  4. That's the way most bullpens are. One of the most important things a manager can do to help his team win games is to manage the bullpen successfully. Hinch has been very good at it.
  5. It is hard to say. He injured his quad running the bases. It wasn't necessarily a cumulative thing like a stress factor or something that was destined to happen. It could have just been an unlucky movement on the bath path.
  6. Sanders is extreme? I believe you've said yourself that he is not extreme and that your beef with him was not his policy positions.
  7. Is this compared to the first third of last year or all of last year? Home runs usually increase in the summer. If it's a real change, then it's a good one.
  8. I was even more surprised by Haas.
  9. I don't remember Porcello throwing a Maddux. I remember him throwing a lot of Porcellos (6 IP/ 3 ER).
  10. That's what I heard too.
  11. It's been a rough series. This is the first time since the opening series versus the Dodgers that Tigers fans have been brought back to reality. They've got a good team, but it's not going to be all magic all the time.
  12. Should of signed with the Tigers. They never get hurt.
  13. That's what I mean about having too narrow of a role. I was arguing that he's not a black hole, not that I think they should keep him on the roster.
  14. I am not saying they should keep him on the roster, just that I don't consider him a black hole. If he could play in the field, it would be easier to deal with his extreme platoon split.
  15. Versus LHP or RHP? I don't know the splits by month, but overall he is still .421 vs LHP/ .245 vs RHP.
  16. My preferred AI tool - Perplexity - says that grok gives incorrect answers 94% of the time.
  17. He has a lifetime OBP of .417 versus LHP. That makes him an effective pinch hitter versus lefties, but that is too narrow of a role in 2025.
  18. They have also made cuts to services for people with disabilities. But they have enough money where they can cut taxes for the wealthy and give their baby dictator a 40 million dollar birthday party.
  19. Yeah, that sucks even more than seeing SLG versus off speed pitchers to introduce the starting line-up.
  20. I don't like when they introduce the starting line-up with something random like SLG for each batter versus off speed pitches. It throws me off because at the beginning of the game I am expecting to see their overall stats. Specific numbers like SLG versus off pitches is something they can do in the middle of the game to make a specific point.
  21. Rosenthal did not suggest that trade. AlaskanTigersfan did!
  22. I don't like it. I had Covid once and for me it felt like just a cold. However, if I get covid whem I am teaching, then I have to teach on zoom for a week which sucks.
  23. Bibee is a talented pitcher. He was bound to turn it around sooner or later. Too bad he picked the Tigers tonight
  24. The current favorites are Nashville and Salt Lake City. I'm still hoping for Montreal.
