For better or for worse, I suspect what we think now about 3 years out will be quite a bit different than what actually happens, I like the odds, but there is a great deal of uncertainty.

As Gehringer pointed out in another thread, AI is garbage in garbage out. It is is only as good as the people programming it and it will certainly be programmed for the benefit of the wealthy.

I have noticed a recent trend on facebook where if someone complains about Trump or Musk, the MAGA response is the hug emoji. MAGAholic is probably just following protocol.

I predict that they will remain out of touch and elitist. I am elitist too (by the correct definition of the word), but it doesn't help at the voting booth.

It is obvious, but I have seen people who aren't generally interested in politics take notice. This MTF group of policy wonks represents a very small percentage of Americans. Most people just aren't interested.

yeah, Musk isn't gong to last long. He is taking much attention away from Trump.

I am expecting him to get a 6-year deal someplace which I don't think is out of line with contracts other players are getting. I suspect he has gotten that kind of offer from multiple teams, but wants more. I have very little hope the Tigers can get him on a short-term deal.

The good news is I don't think Musk will last long. Tump won't be able to deal with all the attention he is getting.

Thanks for this thread. Everyone needs to stay focused on Musk's gross violation of the constitution. Do not be distracted by Trump's daily BS. The Democrats and the media must keep pounding musk. Do not be distracted.

That is a positive development. There have also been lawsuits from the states regarding the funding freeze since it's illegal.

I think projection systems don't work great for teams with a lot of young unproven players. There is too much variaton in possible outcomes.

Greedy? I am a fan. I want the best team possible. I am not going to be upset if they don't sign anyone else, but I'm rooting for it. I really have no idea what Illitch will allow. I just think having an average to slightly average payroll is not a lot to ask for. Other mid-market teams have done it.

I see him as depth. They need about 10 serviceable or better starters. He's one of them.

Why not both? I believe they will still have around the league average payroll if they sign him. It's still probably not happening, but I don't think that's because of Flaherty signing.

No need to trade Mize. He will be the first one to step in when the inevitable injury happens. They need lots of pitching depth.
