I am just a little leery about travel now, but there is a non-zero chance ICE might target me because they think I look like an Iranian. I am not REALLY worried about it, but I believe the chances of that happening, however small they may be, are at least as big as my being attacked by an undocumented immigrant.

I agree it's mostly about winning, but some winning teams do better than others as do some losing teams. I think having an appealing ballpark and having exciting players plays a role. I woud agree that fans seeing empty seats doesn't matter. I can't imagine a fan not buying tickets because they they saw empty seats on TV.

Bregman would have to be fully healthy and performing for at least a week prior to the deadline. If he is and Vierling is not healthy, then I could see them adding Bregman for the stretch drive and post-season. If everyone is healthy at the deadline, I think they will just add pitching help.

That is true of most teams. Every team would love to have an all-star at every position, but that's almost impossible to do. Platooning and pinch hitting is a function of necessity rather than design. Even so, knowing how to do it effectively is a valuable manager skill.

That probably won't be great for the discussion, but it will probably be good for the site and help keep it funded. Edman's going to be scolding everyone though.

They've got a No Kings protest in my home town. It will probably just be three old ladies and couple of hippies with signs, but I'm probably going to drop by on my bike ride to see if it's more than that.

I never had a route, but I did my friends route a couple of times. I disliked the dogs who were a lot less tame in those days! Fortunately, I never had to collect.

AI has a lot of potential and some will use it well. I have been able to use it in my work a little bit. Ultimately, you are right though. AI is not going to work by itself and magically makes things better. No matter how muxch we hear about "machine learning", people still have to design it and manage it and know how to use it. There will be some good in it, but I fear most of it is going to be garbage in and garbage out and it will be primarily used to serve the needs of of corporate billionaires.

It really doesn't matter what they call the parade. Holding an expensive parade after gutting the government supposedly to cut the deficit is incredibly hypocritical and insulting. What do we need a military parade for? Everybody in the world already knows we have the biggest, most powerful military in the world. It's not North Korea.
