Of course, there are independents. Most people don't spend their lives following every obscure election and every political move that is made. I appreciate the detail in which people on this board follow politics, but a very large percentage of Americans do not follow politics at all. They vote for personalities, sound bites or just go off of how they feel about their lives in the current cycle. These people can decide an election.

After Biden's performance in the debate, I think there was no way he was going to win. That was a stunningly bad performance. I know Trump's debates are always a joke, but it doesn't matter with him. America loves a loud mouth bumbling idiot.

In retrospect, Parrish dropped off quite a bit after he left the Tigers and Nokes had a great year in '87. Gibson sure would have helped in 88, probably would have gotten them to post-season. Morris was old and fading when they let him go, so I don't blame them for that. His revival in Torontro was unexpected. I was more disappointed in 85 and 86. That was a great team and still fairly young. They should have added more players through free agency and trade. Also should have kept Howard Johnson.

The 80s core stayed together for a long time. The problem was they didn't add to the core with complementary pieces after 1984. Their development just kind of stopped and Anderson was not a great manager for developing young players. He was good at managing egos but didn't have a lot of patience with young players.

With the depth of their roster, there is not much reason to acquire a postion player unless he's a star. I think they will acquire pitching help especially relievers. I would never rule out acquiring a starter though. You can never ever have too much pitching.
