  1. I am not interested in analyzing Pete. At this point, he is just a commentator and not relevant to the race.
  2. Whenever I see a poll on twitter with something like "who had the better career - **** Allen or Reggie Smith?", I always choose one without looking first and then I look it up and see if my answer seems right.
  3. The question was about Pete talking about Trump.
  4. I will need to figure out how to watch games if the Tigers make the playoffs. I have been watching mlbtv the last couple of years and have no tv service. I know streaming is supposed to be easy but I have idea how to do it or whether my tv is quipped for it. yeah, I'm a boomer!
  5. I definitely remember Turnbull's no hitter less than the no hitters by Verlander and Morris. That's because I was not so emotionally invested in the Tigers in 2021.
  6. Broadcasters should talk about no hitters too. It seems like that should be pat of their jobs.
  7. I think most people regard solo no hitters more than group no hitters. Everybody remembers the no hitters by Verlander and Turnbull. How many remember the 7/8/2023 no hitter thrown by Manning, Foley and Lange? I had forgotten about that one until I looked up Tigers no hitters.
  8. It would still be cool, but it's not quite the same as a solo no hitter. If the Tigers win in the playoffs with this pitching strategy, there will be a lot of talk about it. I don't think the masses will care about it based a regular season game. I don't think you can say the ship has sailed yet. Just because the Tigers have had success with it doesn't mean that it will become standard procedure or even that the Tigers will try it again next year.
  9. "Too many Mexicans" is an old forum joke. Oblong had a friend that used to complain there being "too many Mexicans" on the Tigers even though were no Mexicans.
  10. He said it in the the debate because he's an idiot. There was no strategy there. There may be some strategy in turning it from a stupid unforced error into a chaotic distraction.
  11. Too many Mexicans.
  12. I'm sure he won for somebody. I don't trust him at all, so he is always a loser to me.
  13. Stephen Miller has a MAGA meltdown. At least we know he has a pulse. I wasn't sure before.
  14. Gambling?
  15. Harris up by +5 in two post-debate polls - Morning Consult and LPSOS Almost wrote LSPOS in honor of Trump.
  16. The Libertarian candidate this year is Chase Oliver. He has an interesting set of views, not your typical Libertarian. He is gay though, so he probably won't be able get any undecided Right leaning protest votes.
  17. If someone does not value the true, does he ever knowingly lie?
  18. I don't view Trump as evil. I view him as having severe mental health problems, the results of which is often cruelty. I do not believe he tries to hurt people indiscriminately. Everything he does or says is about HIM and only HIM. He doesn't hurt people because he hates them. He hurts people because he needs to make himself feel better or get revenge on people who he perceives have done him wrong. He is really a sick person.
  19. He may believe that the lie is true, but since he does not value the truth, how do you distinguish between lying and not lying?
  20. I think Mckinstry is good in the role he is in now. You just don't want him getting too mant at bats over the course of a season.
  21. I don't believe he is simply a pathological liar though. I do not think he has morals or ethics. I believe his entire life centers around self promotion and preservation and that he will say whatever achieves those ends at the moment regardless of whether or not it is true or not.
  22. They don't care, but they wouldn't want to take the risk.
  23. Sweeney has done enough in the minors to say that he could develop into a viable starter, but he also could be Zach McKinstry who also had a fantastic month in the Majors.
  24. My first response was that it was staged, but you are right. It certainly looked staged initially because the whole event seemed to be focused on Trump getting a photo op. As soon as I learned that somebody had been killed, I knew it was real. The theory about the FBI trying to take out Trump is even dumber. If they wanted to take him out, they could hire a professional to do it and his tracks would have been covered a lot better. And if if the FBI did try to kill Trump, it would not be for the reason MAGA thinks.
  25. He doesn't believe it though. He just says what is to his advantage at the time. Trump does not distinguish between truth and reality. He's a psychopath. If we are talking about Vance, I am not sure whether he is quite at that level. He is probably lying.
