  1. I got the 12-5 correct for the Lions, but ironically only got one loss correct (Ravens) in the game-by-game prediction. Dead-on Correct (5): Dolphins, Jaguars, Cowboys, Seahawks, Lions Off by One Game (9): Bills, Steelers, Titans, Chiefs, Broncos, 49ers, Cardinals, Bears, Saints Off by Two Games (5): Ravens, Commanders, Vikings, Packers, Falcons Not Even Close (13): Jets, Patriots, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Colts, Raiders, Chargers, Eagles, Giants, Rams, Bucs, Panthers AFC Playoffs: 5/7 correct (no Bengals or Jaguars) NFC Playoffs: 4/7 correct (no Falcons, Giants, or Seahawks) I'll take it. Within two games of a correct prediction for 19 NFL teams isn't bad and I'm pretty happy with five being correct predictions. NFC North was the only division I was within two games for every team.
  2. Hope he has a good vehicle for the snow. It's coming down in sheets.
  3. No Houston or Mitchell. I think it's probably a yes LaPorta, but he might be limited.
  4. The Alabama offer must have been so much that Washington had to immediately say "there's no way"
  5. I think more important is that they are hiring a GM to work with him. Belichick was a really bad drafter the last few years.
  6. I wish they would have gone all out for at least one more score. If they had a three touchdown lead, I think you can play it strategically a little bit. Fourteen points (and then 7) is just too close for comfort. One mistake away from a completely different ballgame.
  7. Revised for playoffs…. AFC Bills over Steelers, 31-17 Chiefs over Dolphins, 10-9 Browns over Texans, 31-30 - Browns over Ravens, 38-35 Bills over Chiefs, 24-17 - Bills over Browns, 27-20 NFC Packers over Cowboys, 24-23 Lions over Rams, 38-35 (OT) Buccaneers over Eagles, 41-28 - 49ers over Packers, 24-10 Lions over Buccaneers, 31-13 - Lions over 49ers, 30-27 - Super Bowl Bills over Lions, 27-21
  8. If his piss has historically been cold he should really see a doctor.
  9. Sometimes fans like all of us are really dumb. Sometimes we are all really right.
  10. I echo a lot of these concerns. We really need the defense that played Dallas (minus the missed safety-sack) to show up. If they allow Stafford to carve up Vildor and linebackers in coverage, it’s going to be a long game and we are going to have a bad time. The Rams have won seven of their last eight for a reason. They’re very good. They probably would have given the 49ers a run for their money in the West had they put it together sooner. There will likely not be room for mistake on offense. We need the line to impose their will and we need the running game to move the chains. None of this three turnover game BS they got away with against the Raiders and didn’t get away with against the Seahawks. On defense, don’t try to do too much. Go with the recipe that’s worked all year. Stuff the run game, make the opposing QB win the game with his arm. Send pressure strategically and force mistakes. I think it’s going to be a very close game that comes down to the wire, possibly OT.
  11. I seriously doubt it. He’d be booed by a large contingent of the fanbase. He’ll be back next season. Schedule something small then.
  12. Saints and Cowboys are the only two who I see left who wouldn’t surprise me. Saints need to be blown up and rebuilt, and Allen won’t be there for it. I think anything short of a conference championship appearance will spell the end of McCarthy’s run in Dallas.
  13. Unless things have changed, they don't schedule divisional games for the international slate. Jacksonville is supposed to be a home game for us, so maybe them, though it kind of sounds like these four teams will be the "hosts" for the international games.
  14. In the end, accepting the three-game suspension is what will prevent Michigan from vacating anything. Had an injunction been granted and Harbaugh coached, the NCAA would have played the long game and eventually ruled him suspended for the games anyway, and ineligible in games played during a court injunction. Leading to a vacated championship. I’m sure they’ll still get some sort of slap on the wrist, in true NCAA fashion. “Oh no not the scholarships” *counts more NIL money*
  15. Parade at 4pm on Saturday leading to a ticketed celebration at Crisler.
  16. I wouldn't think of Disner as the guy to leave the organization to be a GM elsewhere. He joined the Lions in 2019 and was here for the Patricia era. He is considered the salary cap guru now, which he hasn't really had to do much, as we've been in the cutting dead weight stage of the rebuild, not the "let's be strategic to keep everyone good" stage. Ray Agnew is the Assistant GM who came with Holmes. He is who I'd prefer not to lose but would expect to be a candidate.
  17. Good thing the Ford’s made one good decision 25 years ago and built a roof. As opposed to Kansas City, where game time temps are expected to hover around 0 and drop as the game goes on.
  18. I doubt they would have one designed that quickly. And I doubt Michigan’s big money wouldn’t have Michigan all over it.
  19. I think it shows incompetence at the level of the Titans management. I’m not sure whether I read it here or somewhere else, but someone said “if you fire your coach and everyone immediately wants them to become their coach, you probably shouldn’t have fired your coach.” I have a hard time seeing whoever the Titans hire accomplishing more than Vrabel did. They’re incredibly devoid of talent.
  20. I agree with all of this (especially the last part). Both teams did win the trade. I think I just don’t like that it’s felt as if the Rams are absolved from all scrutiny regarding the trade because they won one additional game with Stafford. Not far removed from that fallacy is the one that Stafford must be great and Goff must suck, because of the trade and what’s happened since. While I would love (beyond words) to see the Lions win a single Super Bowl, I would prefer to be them over the Rams right now, even considering that Super Bowl.
  21. They won with Goff too. NFC Championship ain’t for nothing. It’s hard to say it would have happened with Goff too, but I think that speaks more to how McVay mismanaged that relationship than it does to Goff’s talents. While you’ll never be able to say the Rams lost the trade, because they won a Super Bowl, I do think the net positive may be higher for the Lions. It feels intuitively more difficult to take a team from 60 years of futility and make a contender in three years than it does to take an NFC Champion and make them a Super Bowl Champion.
  22. Details will be announced tomorrow, but it is being scheduled for Saturday.
