  1. I see three or four models to drafting a franchise QB. - The Jets/Jags/Lions Method: Draft the QB as you build the team - The Bills Method: Build the team, draft and start the QB - The Chiefs Method: Build the team, draft the QB, let him sit, then plug and play. A 4th method (the 49ers Method I guess) can be tied into the Chiefs too - build the team, draft the QB, utilize him in specialized packages the first year, then plug and play. This only works with some QBs though (like Lance). I think the right QB can succeed in any of these methods (e.g., I think Mahomes would still be good had he been drafted by a rebuilding team that made him start from day one), but I think you position both the QB and the team for the most amount of future success with the Chiefs method, if you can afford it. On the other hand, I think the wrong QB can fail in any of these methods (e.g., I am not at all sold on Jordan Love). I wouldn't be surprised and (probably) would not be that upset if Goff is here into 2024 or so. If he can be a middle-of-the-road QB and not lose us games, I'd prefer that over forcing the issue early and picking up the bust that costs Holmes and Campbell their jobs. I don't see anyone inspiring in 2022 anyway. It does look (early) that 2023 will be better.
  2. Intrigued to see how the new-look Lions react to a gut punch.
  3. This already exists. High school officials (without an on-field play clock) wear one of these: It clips on your belt. Click the filled-in circle for 40 seconds or the empty circle for 25. It vibrates at 10 seconds and then a steady vibration for the last 5 seconds. When it stops vibrating, time is expired. It would not be hard to connect one of these to the on-field play clock for the same effect.
  4. Ford Field largely boo’d Sheila. I don’t think she deserves that.
  5. I can't imagine we could get anything more than a 6th round pick, but the way this team is just so devoid of talent, I get it. Anything worth value now that is not going to be worth as much value 2-3 years down the road should be for sale.
  6. Not to mention that he was held in check fairly well until our rookie corner who was forced into starting by injury was forced out with injury. So yes, well done Aaron on picking apart the 3rd string and beyond of possibly the worst secondary in the league.
