Game threads are like “Who’s Line is it Anyway” for four quarters of football. The rules are made up and the points don’t matter. I don’t hold anyone to their knee-jerk reactions for blood to be spilled. Pulling receipts from 1-6 sure is fun after going 6-1 across 7 though.

I think that division winners should get an auto-bid but I would be okay with not allowing them a home game if they finish with a record below .500. If the NFC South is won at 7-10, they still won their division. But let them go on the road to the #2 seed.

I think the Lions are a sweetheart team for a lot of NFL fans. Not a team that national eyes are automatically drawn to, but if they are on, we get a lot of fans who otherwise wouldn't care, because "how can you hate those fans and that team?" It's easier to hate teams in the NFL than it is to like them. For instance, I hate the Packers, Cowboys, Patriots, Bears, Raiders, and Bucs, and I don't like the Jets, Giants, Steelers, Vikings, Eagles, Seahawks, and Rams... Other than the Lions, I generally don't dislike the Bengals and Bills. I'm indifferent about everyone else. My impression is that we make a lot of "generally don't dislike" lists across the NFL. People know how much we've suffered and because of how long we've sucked for, we haven't made a ton of enemies. A lot of people would be pulling for us if we made a Super Bowl, and will pull for us if we are on, especially if it's against a team they don't like or hate, and especially if we are competitive. Not every MNF game can be Giants-Cowboys (though I'm sure ESPN has asked NFL if that's possible)... We aren't the type of franchise that can carry ratings, but we can improve them with the right opponent.

Not yet I don’t think. If they win next week sure, but them going 0-3 against the Vikings, Colts, and Eagles wouldn’t be the craziest thing in the world, and it would be a roundabout way for us to get in at 9-8.

I left that game wondering how both of those teams have seven wins.

One of these teams is going to host a playoff game.

I changed my mind. Paying him to be the not-coordinator in New England is worth every penny.

Belichick is not blameless.

I don’t think Harbaugh leaves this offseason. I think he retires after a championship, or goes to the Ravens to have fun with John before he goes to the Colts or Cardinals or whoever. Never say never. I just think the NFL pissed him off last year with what happened with Minnesota.

Lions will have a MNF game next year. I’ll predict Lions-Vikings. They may get a TNF game too (though I’d rather not, those are awful). Lions-Chiefs may be the Thanksgiving game.

They seem to be handling things well.

The NFL is really spoiling us with a Christmas Day slate of Packers/Dolphins, Broncos/Rams, and Bucs/Cards! One of those teams is even above 500!

It's also not like Johnson looked other-worldly for 55 minutes today. Or against the Cowboys or Patriots. I want to keep him but there are reasons a team may not want to steal him.
