  1. I would predict they lose 2 of 3 to end the season, maybe even all three. If they win two of three and finish 14-3 it's hard to deny them as a real threat, but 13-4 is exactly what they were in the 2022 season when they were exposed as frauds and knocked out by the Giants in the wildcard round. If both they and the Lions go 3-0, it likely sets up a really weird scenario where a game between the 15-1 1st place Lions and 14-2 2nd place Vikings means nothing for either team, because the Lions will have the #1 seed locked up and the Vikings will have the #5 seed locked up. I expect that if that happens we will see the Lions rout them in week 18, because they will have a game and the NFC South (or maybe West) Champion the next week and be taking it a little easy, while the Lions will have a bye the following week and be Dan Campbelling it into the playoffs.
  2. It's the eye test for me. The Vikings beat the Jags by 5, Titans by 10, and should have lost to both the Bears and Cardinals. I think they're a well coached team, but the defense is faltering, and the offense is not on an elite level. Compared to the Packers, who have a better offense (IMO), better defense (IMO), and are equally well coached.
  3. This is a good addition, and I agree entirely with your assessment. Watching that game against the Packers, they were just the antithesis of a Dan Campbell team.
  4. Hot Seat Doug Pederson: good as gone Antonio Pierce: should be gone Mike McCarthy: the children are running the day care, I hope he gets extended Raheem Morris: if I was a Falcons fan I would want him gone Zac Taylor: this is where I would want to go if I am Ben Johnson
  5. Hurts doesn't look good this year. The Eagles have been winning despite him. You have to be a bad QB to win nine in a row in Philadelphia and have even the national media being like "wow your running back must be an MVP" I'm not all that worried about not having Hutch, though it's obviously preferable to have him. They haven't lost a game without him. I just want to at least have what our defense looked like the moment he went out. Paschal, Levi, Alim, Reader, etc.
  6. In the AFC/NFC era, the 2015 Panthers, 2011 Packers, 1998 Vikings, 1985 Bears, and 1984 49ers are all tied at 15-1. I would concur that 16-1 > 15-1. Interestingly though, only the 85 Bears of that group won the Super Bowl. I would take 15-2 if it meant a Super Bowl. 😁
  7. The NFL allows Jawaan Taylor to jump on practically every single play. They have for two years now. I don't get it.
  8. Lions will be wearing their black alternates for this one.

  11. Especially if you're just going to call the same exact play again. Take 15 seconds to re-rack and run it again instead of burning the timeout.
  12. Might be a bold assumption. Allen is going off.
  13. They look like they may have been caught looking ahead to Detroit. What a world.
  14. This is very likely to be correct. If the Lions go 3-1 and the Eagles go 4-0, they'd both be 15-2, but the Lions would have the one-seed via tiebreaker based on conference record (if the Lions loss is to the Bills), or very likely based on strength of victory (if the Lions loss is to the Bears, 49ers, or Vikings). The Lions are currently at an NFC best 0.510 in that mark, while Philly is at 0.400. I'm not doing the math, but I doubt they can catch up even if we lost to the Vikings (which would improve that mark the most). If the Lions go 3-1 and the Vikings go 4-0, they'd both be 15-2, but the Lions would have the one-seed and division based on record against common opponents, because the Vikings lost to the Rams. If the Lions go 3-1 and both the Eagles and Vikings go 4-0, all three would be 15-2, but my understanding (though I am not positive) is that the divisional tie is determined first, then the postseason seeding tie. Which means that the Lions would win the tiebreaker against the Vikings, then win the tiebreaker against the Eagles, and that there would be no three-way tiebreaker to determine the one-seed. Credit to @lordstanley for doing a lot of this work earlier in the thread.
  15. Yes. If we were playing them with the defensive line that went against Green Bay, I would be concerned. If we can get Levi, Paschal, Reader, Alim, and maybe even Hutch back before we see them? We'll contain that run, force Hurts to throw, and be halfway to victory.
  16. If he's going to actually play and contribute in the Super Bowl, I expect he would need to get some snaps in the NFCCG. Either way he may dress for the Super Bowl, but it may be in quasi decoy fashion, rather than actually an intended contributor.
  17. The Eagles defense inspires zero fear in me whatsoever. At least not the team that played Carolina today. Bryce Young may be one of the worst QBs in NFL history and he nearly engineered a 98-yard drive there.
  18. Panthers are going to get the ball down 6 with 3 minutes and no timeouts. Does Bryce have it in him?
  19. Meanwhile, Carolina has taken a two-point lead over Philly with about 17 minutes left in the game.
  20. On 3rd & 14 from inside the 25, Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson opt for a draw play to get a shorter field goal for Koo.
  21. KOC is wasting a timeout/challenge on a textbook simultaneous possession.
  22. Kind of crazy that this is a projected wildcard matchup right now.
  23. And then wimp out with a chip shot. So, so bad.
  24. An interior defensive lineman (#93) slipped on his initial charge, the interior offensive lineman fell on top of him, and they called a defensive hold on #93. While if #93 did grab and pull the lineman down so that someone behind him could rush the gap he created, it would be a good call, that's not at all what happened. A truly dreadful call that can have game altering consequences.
  25. Four-point swing from the phantom defensive holding call on a field goal. And if they called it on 93 as just announced, what an awful call.
