  1. I’ll add to the jelly. With my season tix I get two “perks” a year. With my first I selected a VIP Draft experience, where I was in the right place at the right time to shake Roger Goodell’s hand, and have a funny exchange with him where I told him I loved him and he asked if I was the one booing him earlier. Today is my other perk. I’m heading downtown now, have tickets to the open bar VIP tailgate in Eastern Market. Just have to stay sober enough to scream in a few hours.
  2. This is the most optimistic take in TP_Fan history. We need to frame this post.
  3. A lot of signs are pointing to a Green Bay victory tonight. Which is usually when we see the team pull it together and provide a solid four-quarter effort. I think we see a really strong offense tonight to counter the weakened defense. Detroit 34 Green Bay 28
  4. The entire starting defensive line except Alim will be out tomorrow. Decker too.
  5. I agree. At least in perception, people will say it’s all Ben Johnson, or that any QB could do what he did. Goff is the type of guy to win Super Bowl MVP though.
  6. I greatly enjoyed listening to Karsch and Anderson this morning, knowing full well that Doug very likely had a vacation day scheduled for this morning that he decided to forego after Saturday.
  7. SF looks really bad. Like, possibly easiest game remaining bad.
  8. Oh no..... 35-40 at Texas Tech Kliff Kingsbury?!? Who somehow got hired to the NFL and went 28-37-1 with Arizona Kliff Kingsbury?!?! Who nearly ruined a Kyler Murray who looks a lot better without him Kliff Kingsbury?!? Noooooo...... Anyone but Kliff Kingsbury!!!
  9. Until they lose, I still think it's most likely they finish as the #1 seed. 15-2 should be good enough, no matter when the second loss comes. I also think Philly will lose one more. They have a lot of talent, but their coaching isn't so great. Pittsburgh or Washington are my guess.
  10. He's under contract through 2027 too. I'll take Bates.
  11. When the Lions are on their game, they could beat either of these teams by 10+ points.
  12. That was a mediocre team playing against a mediocre+ team. The Vikings don’t scare me, they annoy me.
  13. I feel like Arizona is going to blow this in spectacular fashion just because.
  14. Minnesota would win in that case. Prefer them lose, lengthen the lead on the division. Even if the Lions lost every game from here out, they’d very likely make the playoffs.
  15. If they were writing blank checks last year, I expect that they will write even blanker checks this year. I just think when the dust settles and tempers calm they are going to see a coach that has won 10+ games every season and routinely is competing for National Championships. Maybe behind Door #2 will be a coach who wins 10+ games every season and routinely is competing for National Championships... but maybe not.
  16. I was curious who Ohio State genuinely wanted to replace Day with so I read a thread on 11W. Unsurprisingly, there is no consensus. One poster to their credit described it well as "looking to replace a 99th percentile coach with a 100th percentile coach" 66-11 (1-4) is a home run hitter, who strikes out when it matters most. You can't just replace a home run hitter with anybody off the street and expect him to continue to hit home runs against everyone, including the one who matters most. You're going to sacrifice somewhere else. The names they throw around are Dan Lanning (won't happen), Mike Vrabel (probably wouldn't happen and may not work even if it did), Marcus Freeman (have fun losing to Marshall and NIU and he also probably won't leave, and his rivals are down and out Stanford, USC, and Cal), and Brian Hartline, their current WR coach (massive risk). I think Day wins a playoff game, loses in the semis, and they keep him another year.
  17. We are due these teams taking a step back. They have been holding serve for a while, the tiniest bit of breathing room would be very welcomed.
  18. I agree, though it will be interesting to see if Alabama can recreate any of the Saban era magic with DeBoer, or if they have a short leash if he doesn't win a National Championship in three years. I could see them slipping into the LSUs of the world if they start a rotating door at the head position.
  19. Agreed on all fronts. Michigan could have a 1-11 season, beat Ohio State, and be at the bar on the Monday after and say "I don't guys, it wasn't all bad." They could still finish 8-5 too. I would expect they go to the ReliaQuest Bowl against a mediocre SEC team or Mayo Bowl against a mediocre ACC team. Playing against a Syracuse, East Carolina, Florida, or Texas A&M are all possible wins.
  20. It helps that the day of the juggernaut that was Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State seems to be fading. Each has two losses and could easily have more.
  21. I'm not sure if it was real or not, but this possibility has to go through the mind of LaFleur.
  22. I've got the "Planting Flag Fines NIL Fund" on line two, willing to cover all costs. 😉
  23. I'm sure it's not really "allowed" now. They could make it a point of emphasis, increase fines, etc., but college kids are going to do what college kids are going to do. Like when there was a movement to try to stop fans from rushing the field, you can fine the schools to high heaven, but you're not necessarily going to stop it.
