  1. He got flagged almost immediately in the first game for DPI on a marginal call. Now he has the reputation of being “handsy” and all close calls go against him. DC will need to work on the refs and AG/DB coach need to work on his technique. But these DPI calls are all coming with TA in the hip pocket of the receiver. He always seems to be where he is supposed to be.
  2. I read somewhere that they banned dunking after Jimmy Graham broke the goalpost.
  3. Smith is a good player. He has very good receivers. DK Metcalf is basically impossible to defend.
  4. It took a perfect game by Goff to beat Seattle.
  5. And the WR most like Megatron, DK Metcalf, continues to torch Detroit.
  6. I would love to see an offensive explosion but I expect it will be a close game. Detroit will try to pound Seattle’s decimated DL. Goff can’t be back there in 3rd and long. Seattle will pick on Arnold and whoever is replacing Branch at safety if he can’t go. Detroit 26 Seattle 24
  7. The Lions have had a hard time containing mobile QBs including Geno Smith because they have had bad players on defense. Now that they have better players on defense they are playing better defense. I don’t know if Detroit will win tonight, and it won’t be good if Branch has to sit, but I would be really surprised if Seattle puts up 30 this time.
  8. Agreed. The refs are picking on him.
  9. Must feel good to be a Falcon and have a kicker who can nail a game-winning 58 yard FG.
  10. Bears punter just won them this game. Stafford has an argument for a roughing the passer penalty, but was going to have a hard time driving 90 yards in 68 seconds.
  11. Man the Bears' punter just got a standing ovation for a 66 yard punt and he deserved it. The thing sounded like a cannon blast, landed inside the ten, and bounced out of bounds. I love good special teams play.
  12. It got so lopsided I had to put on Rams-Bears.
  13. What do those numbers look like if we leave out two of his four DPI calls. They have all been a little bit weak, but two of them, in my view, were wholly unjustified.
  14. Yes, and also Tampa. Up 14-0 against Philly. Cry, Eagles, cry.
  15. What’s the minimum bid you have to make in order for Cincinnati’s GM not to respond “**** the **** off and don’t call me again.”
  16. I appreciate Holmes’s approach to roster construction even if I am disappointed that it results in an occasional miss in free agency. In this case he tried to get a damaged FA like Davenport to sign below market value and save the money to pay Hutch. It’s a shame it didn’t work. But they used 1% of their cap space for one season.
  17. Henderson and Higgins for Houston. Git-r-dun Brad!
  18. The Bengals are not having a fire sale three weeks into the season.
  19. Are we really so hard up for sports related procedural drama that we want the NFL to establish a parallel legal system? It is already embarrassing that we can’t watch a game anymore without a lawyer in the booth Cam Sutton was evading a warrant that was issued for his arrest. He had thumbed his nose at the legal system so it makes sense that the NFL acted before the legal system resolved his issue. Rashee Rice appears to be operating within the legal system. Let it work then the NFL can act.
