  1. A classic Bengals moment.
  2. Same old Bengals.
  3. Spags is dealing tonight.
  4. Either way, it’s nice to see a HOF coach cribbing our wunderkind OC.
  5. Andy Reid just dialed up a hook and lateral a la Ben Johnson.
  6. Well, this was a disappointing game for everyone but Filthydelphia.
  7. "League sources" i.e. Green Bay Packers front office executives. It is really surprising to me how antagonistic they seem to have been with Rodgers. I get that Rodgers is a little prickly, but how they've handled their transition, going back to the drafting of Jordan Love, seems ridiculously short sighted. These days, if you are taking a QB in Round 1, you better expect that person to play right away. Instead, they wasted a chance to get a QB in his prime one of several talented offensive players still on the board (Tee Higgins and D'Andre Swift included). Say what you will about Karen Rodgers, but Green Bay really botched this transition. A Hall of Fame player deserves better than this.
  8. Even if they had backed into a top three spot and Bryce Young was available, I wouldn’t want them to take him given what we’ve seen tiny Tua go through. They don’t have NFL frames.
  9. Seriously? Campbell fired AP and suddenly the defense gave up 50 yards less per game for the rest of the season, doubled their takeaway rate from six in seven games to 16 in the last ten games, and reduced points against from 32.1 before to 20.2 after. This is even with that abomination in Carolina. What more do you want? AG to get drawn and quartered at the 50 yard line? Not only was this team deficient in player talent, they were deficient in coaching talent. Campbell (with an assist from Spielman) fixed this, bringing in a massive influx of experienced coaches. Not all of them fit, just like Michael Brockers didn't fit. So you tweak your team, which is what Campbell has done both years. It is working. Regardless of ultimatums put out there by fans, which I'm sure MCDC finds terrifying.
  10. Man. Tua is still in the concussion protocol. Hope he’s not looking at a Franzen situation.
  11. Watch them use the two firsts on WRs. 😂
  12. Man it was painful to watch the Giants stink up the joint last night, especially knowing that they backed in with a tie, the Lions trounced them, and the Lions offense is one of the few in the NFL as good as the Eagles, if not better.
  13. This makes me think of the Trey Lance situation. I can't believe the 49ers are surviving the debacle of their massive trade up to get him, his inability to beat out Garoppolo, them hanging Jimmy G out to dry then having to go crawling back to him when Lance went down after a few inauspicious starts, then having Mr. Irrelevant bail them out, looking like the second coming of Tom Brady. Are you kidding me? The ghost of Bill Walsh is up there calling in favors.
  14. I was told Dan Campbell was a terrible game manager.
  15. Yeah the Vikes spend too much money on that defense for there not to be a scapegoat.
  16. But if the lions trade up into the top 10 for a running back we can’t live without your hot takes!
  17. Is this a ghost pun?
  18. Yep. If they had backed into the 2nd or 3rd pick, and Bryce Young was on the board… YOLO 🤷🏻‍♂️ OTOH Campbell has expressed his desire for a QB who can make plays with his feet. If Richardson is still on the board late in the second round it wouldn’t totally surprise me if they picked him and put him in some Taysom Hill-type packages.
  19. It’s possible that the Super Bowl will match up the Eagles and the Bills. The Goffense put up 60 points combined against them. The defense gave up 856 combined yards. Where is the team more likely to improve? Yes, defense, so you put your assets there.
  20. I thought Mayo was working on a deal that would make him heir-apparent in NE. Anyway there are a lot of offensive wizards out there. Yes Johnson is hot, but so are OCs of a bunch of teams still alive in the playoffs.
  21. Have we ended up in some parallel universe where all of the surprising Lions news is good? I’m thrilled that he is staying but the skeptic in me assumes his agent got word that he was behind a lot of other guys. The Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers have interviewed or requested to interview their interim coach Steve Wilks along with Sean Payton, Mike Kafka, Shane Steichen, Frank Reich, Kellen Moore, Ken Dorsey, and Jim Caldwell. I’m sure there is a lot of truth to what he said about the direction of the franchise but there are also a lot of equally hot candidates out there and a few wild cards. If he can put one more year of production on his resume — with Jaymo at 100% — his star will continue to rise.
  22. I’ve been reading Campbell’s takes on Robinson too. He says seven NFL scouts claim that Robinson is the ONLY elite talent in the draft. (I’m not saying this is true, but he says it.) I would cringe if they pick a RB at six, but if they pick this RB at 18 and high five each other like when they got Sewell and Jaymo then LFG. I have seen a few mocks where Robinson lasts into the second round.
  23. Didn’t he play under Lloyd Carr!?!
  24. Hock has been Minnesota’s best player today.
  25. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35441956/nfl-officiating-scrutiny-seahawks-rams-controversy Seahawks-Rams game that knocked Lions out of contention was the "worst officiated game of the year."
