This is my uneducated guess as well. I think it explains why DOJ didn't pursue contempt of congress charges for him. I also think it's very possible that if he was that important to the DOJ they may not want him testifying to J6 committee.

I think it gives a reasonable explanation for some of the stuff we're seeing but obvs pretty speculative. It would explain why the DOJ didn't pursue him like they did Bannon for contempt. If he is flipped I doubt DOJ wants him testifying to the Jan 6 committee....

I love how McCarthy says AG should preserve documents but nothing about Trump doing that. More "I can tell you what to do, you can't tell me what to do" trash from the GOP. I totally hope they don't win the House, but if they do, clearly the AG should just not honor the subpoenas.
