Edmonton is in a complete free fall now.

Every soccer mom in America and every suburban senior voter should be hammered with the messaging that people on the right hate you and hate your way of life. Democrats need to punch back and highlight how Republicans have utter contempt for people living in suburban and urban areas.
-
Biden and Democrats up and down the ballot need to campaign in every big city and every metro suburb that these people on the right, from Trump on down, hate you and have contempt for you. Just like MAGA campaigns in rural America on the fact that urban liberals hate you, Democrats need to hit MAGA Republicans on the fact that they have contempt for folks in urban and suburban communities.

If Holland were still the GM I'd agree that he's probably 2-3 years away. Holland left Tomas Tatar in the pressbox until he was 23 and Gustav Nyquist in Grand Rapids until he was 24. But I don't think Yzerman is going to wait until Cossa is 23-24 to promote him like Holland did with Nyquist and Tatar. I think there is a chance we see Cossa up next season actually. -
Why would any person want to serve in the military when they would be sent off to war to fight for, checks notes . . . No bid oil contracts for **** Cheney and Haliburton. I get wanting to fight to defend the homeland after 9/11 or Pearl Harbor. I don't get wanting to die in a war where the President and his administration sold lies to the American people so an oil company could get no bid contracts in Iraq.

I'm all for mandatory military service so long as it includes Trump himself. Send Corporal Bone Spurs to Afghanistan for a few years.

Cap Geek closed when the owner died from cancer I believe. Sucks that Cap Friendly, which I believe replaced it, is shutting down.

Study: American Educational Research Association: Voter preference for Trump linked to bullying in middle schools I happened across this study online and thought it was interesting enough to share.

What about Iginla's kid? I know Tij Iginla isn't the type of power forward with size, who can win the tough battles in the corners. Smaller size, a lack of physicality and defensive hockey don't appear to be his strengths from what I've read. Scouting reports do seem to indicate that he's a really good skater (albeit not the fastest guy on the ice), a good puck handler with a nice pass, and a prolific scorer. He had 47 goals on 84 points total in the WHL last season, so he's gone some scoring prowess as well. He can also startle between C/F and give us versatility there.

I'm ok with signing players with an edge and who may be considered "bad" in some way. But throwing your girlfriend out the window goes beyond being a Vontez Burfict type of player with an edge to him. Throwing your girlfriend out a window as Sutton allegedly did, knocking a women out as Ray Rice and Joe Mixon did, that should be a step too far for the league. If the NFL wanted to take domestic violence seriously Sutton would be suspended, pending an investigation. He would then be barred from football for life, without opportunity to collect his pension, if he was found guilty in a court of law.

https://nhlmke.com/ Other than a website, a twitter page, and some articles about the idea I don't see a push for it. It doesn't look like there is a serious group of investors pushing to finance and bring a franchise to Milwaukee.

Biden could declassify the files too but likely won't because high profile Democrats, ie Bubba, are named in them too.

Blocking access to birth control and condoms should be front and center on the campaign trail. I would literally be running ads with single dudes at the drug store trying to buy condoms and the store clerk or pharmacist tells them due to new Republican laws you can no longer buy those in this state. Trying to tell American that sex is only for procreation, not personal enjoyment, is not exactly a popular or winning issue for Republicans.

I'm giving up on the Quebec argument for now, even though I still believe in my heart they deserve a team before another southern team gets added. But if the NHL wants to expand beyond the relocation to Utah then I'd love to see Milwaukee get a team. They have 2 million people in and around the Milwaukee-Racine area. Wisconsinites have proven they will support hockey with the Badgers NCAA team, the Admirals in the AHL, and fan support for both the Blackhawks and Wild. Plus, kids and families grow up playing the sport of hockey in the state. I'd give a team to Milwaukee before Atlanta or Houston.

Red Wings 2024 Off-Season Thread
Mr.TaterSalad replied to Mr.TaterSalad's topic in Detroit Red Wings
We haven't been in on other superstars in the past couple of seasons when they've been available on the trade block or free agent market: from Johnny G to Matthew Tkachuk. That was in all likelihood due to where we were at in the rebuild process, with a roster not yet ready for such a move. I think this offseason we can afford to be more aggressive in trying to acquire a marquee or very good talent. We added Debrincat last year and could add another big piece this year. If a guy like Zegras or a Brady Tkachuk were available I'd love to be in on one of those trades, so as long as we weren't giving up too much of our defensive future or Nate Danielson in the trade. I'm not giving up Edvinsson or Cossa and mortgaging out the back end and defense of this team to get another offensive player. But short of that, I'd be open to other prospects. There may be a chance that we're not going to be in on making a marquee, splash trade or free agent signing this year though. Yzerman may just look to continue to add to the depth of good players we have. Maybe he is looking to add more scoring depth, to role out 10-11-12 10+ goal scorers and 25+ point producers to build a Vegas Golden Knights style Cup contender. I've said in the past, based on where we this roster is heading, that we're looking more and more like a team without a true superstars but with lots of potential depth in having good/really good players on this roster. A team that can role out three consistent scoring lines and two consistent pairings on the blueline. Pairing a guy like Zegras with Larkin or Raymond could certainly provide a big scoring punch if he can return from injury and build off his solid 22-23 NHL season where 65 points off 23 goals and 42 assists. I'd start with Petry and Holl for Zegras to see what Anaheim says. What the heck I bet it would work on NHL 24 in franchise mode. 🙂 In all seriousness, I'd offer them 2 of the 4 of Jonatan Berggren, Carter Mazur, William Wallinder, Trey Augustine plus a 2024 1st and a 2024 2nd to see where that gets us. -
Trump is literally on the fight logs and in dozens of pictures with the guy.

What's the point of Trump having a vetting process for Vice President? The point of vetting is to ensure something bad won't come out about them. What could come out about the VP candidate that could be worse than what the guy at the top did?
-
I didn't follow anything other than the election results. Did the polling show Modi and BJP were set to have a big wave election and sweeping victories nationwide?
