  1. He's getting too much time in the pocket.
  2. When can we start complaining about play calling??? LOL
  3. I hope Aiden buries Mahomes ass in the turf. I think Campbell and Glenn are going to be aggressive tonight.
  4. I was just coming, cuming, to say that. They are slobbering all over KC and everyone of their analysts picked the Chiefs. **** that and GO LIONS!!!!!!! Let's shock the world boys!!!
  5. It's not linear, but I do not believe they will get off to the slow starts they did each of the last two seasons. I have them going 6-2 into the bye week and building from there to get to 12 wins. I should be more pessimistic after 36 years on this Earth of getting the rug pulled out from under me every time I have believed in this team. But you can't compare prior regimes and teams to what is presently on the field and who is presently running the organization. What Sheila Ford-Hamp, Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, and co. doing genuinely looks and feels different than what we have ever seen in the past. This isn't the 11-5 Lions about to turn around and lay an egg the next year by going 4-12. This is a team that has made meaningful and significant offseason improvements. Improvements that will allow them to substantially build on what they did last year down the stretch. I expect great things from this team, up to and including, both a division win and playoff win at home.

  7. 10 games is a 1 win improvement over last season. I think they can and should do better.
  8. Chiefs 30 - Lions 24. I love this team and what I believe they are going to become this year. While I believe that truly great teams will find ways to beat Kansas City, I think it is an awful lofty task to ask them to go into Arrowhead and beat the defending Super Bowl Champs on the road. I think this game is a dogfight and we lose a close one in the end. Just please, oh please don't let it be something the refs did or some new rule we've never heard of that ends up costing us the game.
  9. Campbell is up top for me because I want to see if we have a real run D and a LB or someone who can finally cover a TE. It will be nice to have a well-rounded defense that can actually cover TEs in space too.
  10. What rookie are you most excited to see tonight? For me it is Jack Campbell to see if this run defense and LB unit are improved right from the start or if this is going to be an ongoing improvement as Campbell gets adjusted into the defense.
  11. Pride of Detroit was doing their season preview podcast and their Editor in Chief, Jeremy Reisman, who I normally find myself agreeing with, had what I thought was a terrible take. He essentially said it would be ok for the Lions to lose to Kansas City and then go and lose to Seattle and start 0-2. He also said he wouldn't be shocked if they started 1-3 either and thinks things will be ok. Starting 0-2 means you will have an 11.3% chance of making the playoffs. It spells the end of the chance at the playoffs for nearly 90% of teams that start 0-2. If they start 1-3, meaning they lost to one or both of Green Bay and Atlanta, then I think a lot of fans are talking about coaching changes. They cannot start 0-2 or 1-3. That would be a disappointment on both accounts.
  12. Were there any new rules or rule changes adopted this offseason that can be used and enforced for the first time ever against the Lions? A 10 second runoff after a TD was reviewed and overturned? A process of the catch? A batted ball out of the back of the end zone?
  13. The reason I view how they win matters is because winning against a full strength Chiefs team better shows us who they are versus winning against a team without 2 of it's top 4 players. If we want to know just how improved this secondary and LB units what better way to find that out then seeing them out there against Kelce. If we want to think of ourselves as Super Bowl contenders then there is a good chance that in the event we do make it, we're playing the Chiefs a second time this season. That could likely mean playing them with Kelce fully healthy and the Chris Jones situation fully worked out. I'd like to find out now that we can beat the Super Bowl champs when they are at their best, but that's just me.
  14. As I said earlier in the thread, it would be a big plus for us if Chris Jones is out and an even bigger plus if Kelce is out. That said, I think I want the Chiefs at their best on Thursday because I want to say we beat them at their best. I don't want excuses and asterisks next to the win with people saying "Oh you only beat them because Kelce didn't play or Chris Jones sat out or whatever." I want our boys to beat them at their very best. So I hope Kelce does play.
  15. TSN: NHL Rumors, Latest on free agents Kane, Kessel as training camps near
  16. I clicked into it but haven't read it yet. Looks like a great read and something that really grounds and humanizes the situation he's been going through.
  17. Have we heard anything this offseason about Josh Paschal and how he's looked? I can recall a significant or meaningful report about Paschal or how he's looked this preseason.
  18. Neon Deion beat a team Harbaugh couldn't. LOL, I know they aren't the same TCU team as last year. But great job by Coach Sanders on getting a big win.
  19. If we acquired Chris Jones I think that would elevate my hype level to probably NFC Championship game status. The hype train has already left the station and acquiring Jones would have it far down the tracks. While I do not at all think the Lions are about to get Chris Jones, in the event they did, no way on Earth does KC trade him before we have to play them. But I don't think Chris Jones is going anywhere but KC. Just as Quinnen Williams wasn't going anywhere but the Jets and Lamar anywhere but the Ravens. All pipe dreams. On top of that, Brad Holmes has shown no penchant to pay big money to an aging veteran or a player that isn't his own, home grown talent. No way is he giving 29 year old Chris Jones, who is about to be on the wrong side of 30, a $30/mil per year deal. No way!
  20. If Tim Scott were gay that would be an amazing troll on MAGA. One of the most conservative, MAGA states and both their US Senators gay, that would be classic.
  21. How long until we get a post critical of offensive play calling? Also, it's too bad MB disappeared. I'd really love to have condensing post late in the 4th quarter as the Lions are making a late comeback about how everyone was calling for Campbell to be fired just 25 minutes ago.
  22. I want to give the Lions the win on this so badly because I'm all aboard the hype train and my emotions are running wild brother. But being being rational, even without Chris Jones, Kansas City has so much fire power on offense and the Lions have historically struggled with mobile QBs and Mahomes is the very best of them. I don't think this game is a blow out at all. I think it will be a slugfest, just like last year's Eagles game was, and come down to the wire. I think we will run the ball down KC's throats and dominate the line of scrimmage on offense. I think they best us only on the better QB front with Mahomes. It comes down to a last second play or late drive to win it. I'm going Chefs 31-Lions 27.
  23. That's a big plus for us. We should be able to try and run the ball down their throats and dominate the line of scrimmage.
