  1. If the comp for Stroud is Jared Goff, why pick Stroud then and given up on the sure thing you have already? I say/ask this as someone who wanted to run Matt Stafford out of town so we could get the next sensational rookie QB on a cheap contract. Stroud literally comps to a slightly more mobile and athletic Goff.
  2. Could Levis have skyrocketed because Jim Irsay and the Colts are going to move up and get him?
  3. Some men see things as they are, and say why. I dream up conspiracy theories about vaccines that never were, and say why not.
  4. They would have been better going after Derek Carr honestly and I am surprised they didn't. Carr has more to offer than Rodgers and wouldn't have cost that large amount of draft capital.
  5. Tucker Carlson getting fired as made an otherwise gloomy week or so that I've been having a little brighter. Hopefully he stays off the air for good so he can't spread his hatred, racism, fascism, and illliberal world view. But I'm sure he'll be on Newsmax or OAN in no time. In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy all the memes.
  6. What's the hold up with Teddy Bridgewater signing anywhere? Is he potentially waiting for a starter to go down so he can start somewhere next year or do we think there's a bidding war for him?
  7. That's why I was wondering if he was caught up in it. A report did say other staff was caught up in it and so I wondered if he was too. I would certainly hope not.
  8. Weren't Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes trying to change the culture of this franchise? This seems like a widespread problem with the team and broader organization.
  9. There's no report that WR Coach Antwaan Randle El is wrapped up in there is this? It seemed like a report mentioned maybe a coach was caught up in this situation.
  10. A caller on 97.1 brought this up and wondered if the Marvin Jones signing was Holmes response to knowing this was coming down on Jamo.
  11. For sure on the first art. You can't be a Pete Rose and bet on games in the league you are currently involved with. As to the second part, it's a stupid and illogical to have a rule that defines where you bet. Especially when you consider the league makes millions and millions from the sports betting apps. Of course though, it's the Lions players who this happens to.
  12. None of us can be fully sure, but I think it makes a top-tier playmaker like Bijan more appealing. We know, thanks to the Jamo trade, that Brad Holmes likes elite playmakers when he identifies them. If Holmes and the front office have Robinson identified as one of the few elite playmakers in this draft they may not care as much about positional value and just go and get him.
  13. Does this qualify as an SOL moment?
  14. That's the hypocrisy of it all. These sports betting apps are all big time, big money sponsors for the NFL, their games, and their teams.
  15. IDK if what Jamo did counts as a "character concern" so to speak, but does this make the Lions more apprehensive now to draft Jalen Carter? They are bringing this up on 97.1 now.
  16. That's good to know that at least he won't be missing practice reps in addition to game time.
  17. Then do you trade for Hopkins or someone else or just ride the wave of 6 games with who you got and maybe a 3rd or later round pick?
  18. It's a significant concern for sure. In the case of Ebron though there was also concerns regarding his maturity and ability to run routes, which I don't believe is there for Johnston. But yes, I am concerned with his 11% college drop rate.
  19. Looks like Cephus and Moore have been released.
  20. Quentin Johnston come on down at #18.
  21. We have to get another receiver in there now. We can't start out the season with Marvin Jones as our #2.
  22. Bijan Robinson was born four years after fax machines became non-essential forms of communicating with your employer.
  23. I guess given Holmes' statement on Carter that he is on their draft board and is under legitimate and real consideration. If Holmes feels comfortable taking Jalen Carter after the interview than I will trust him to do so. I still have Nick Fairley-esque concerns about him, but I trust this front office and coaching staff enough to make the right call on taking Carter. I don't believe them drafting Carter will be one of those Mayhew taking Titus Young or Bob Quinn "I've never watched more game tape on anyone than Teez Tabor" type of moments. In Holmes I trust and so if Carter is the pick I will feel satisfied with it.
  24. You're a player or two away from being the lead dog in the NFC next year. I'm drafting someone who I think can come right in, contribute at a high level now, and still be a great player overtime. That's Will Anderson, that's Tyree Wilson, maybe that's Jalen Carter, Devon Witherspoon, or Christian Gonzalez. I don't think that is any of the QBs. They won't be serious contributors for a year or more. With Goff being one of the 7-8 best QBs in the NFL the past year and a half, I see no reason to run him out of town as many tried doing, most notably me, with Stafford for half a decade. I see no reason to pass on a player who can elevate us to the top now in favor of a QB unless you believe Goff can't sustain the high level of play he's shown on field.
  25. I watched a small bit of RFK's announcement and is his voice always that horse? Maybe he has covid?
