  1. Let's be real, there is one QB out there worth the Jets time, that could be expected to both be productive on the field and possibly want to play. And it isn't Carson Wentz.
  2. I see no reason why Gibbs snap count shouldn't increase by the week, while Jones decreases. Gibbs should be getting time out wide and in the slot on certain play designs as well. He's the RB version of Deboo Samuel. That is to say, a RB who will occasionally be schemed as a WR, like Deboo is a WR who will occasionally be schemed as a RB.
  3. Marvin Jones looks cooked. I don't think that's an overreaction. Maybe I am wrong and he'll bounce back this week.
  4. Jets. Their season is toast if they lose Rodgers for the rest of the year. Zac Wilson has never shown he can be a capable NFL starting QB. And with that Oline the Jets having getting Rodgers killed on drive one of the season, that doesn't bode well for Wilson as he'll have little time in the pocket it seems to let plays develop and will be forcing throws.
  5. Aaron Rodgers out already and the Jets look like a dysfunctional mess early on.
  6. I was unimpressed by Geno Smith and Seattle in week 1. Geno Smith and the entire Seahawks team sure look a lot more like the team that limped into the playoff down the stretch than they do the team that came into Ford Field and hung 45 on the Lions. If this team wants to keep putting nails in the SOL coffin than you go and win against Seattle this week. I feel this should be a nice 7-10 point win for the Lions. It's the NFL, so you rarely blow anyone out, but the Lions should be able to handle Seattle if they want to be considered among the NFL's Super Bowl contenders. The other things I am looking for this week are as follow. First, is Marvin Jones going to continue to get a top 3 target share in this offense or will Ben Johnson and Dan Campbell realize that cake is fully baked? Jones at this point should either be on the practice squad or off the roster if he keeps looking at all like he did last week. As for who should replace him, I think putting Gibbs out wide in specific sets, as well as more use of Kalif Raymond until Jamo comes back is where I would go. Truthfully, I'd love to make a trade for a WR and go out and get another outside guy, but I don't think that's happening anytime soon, if at all. Second, who on this defensive line is going to step up and go after the QB besides Hutch? I'm not expecting this team to have multiple players with double-digit sack numbers, but there needs to be sustained pressure from the other side of Aiden, even when he lines up along the interior. I'd like to think Houston and Cominsky will each step up and take part of that role. I'd like to think Josh Paschal will make an appearance and be useful there as well.
  7. How do you think Fields would fair if his O-line was as good as the Lions? Would you as a fellow Lions fans be worried that a QB like Fields, behind a good line, could give the Lions a run for their money when it comes to winning the division?
  8. 28-45, 466 yards and 3 TDs.
  9. Justin Fields, who I liked coming out of the draft, really looks like he's regressing. He locks onto one target and easily gets read and picked off for 6.
  10. Anyone who was afraid the Bears might surprise a few people and compete for the division shouldn't bother worrying now. They look like crap in every facet.
  11. Damn, Justin Fields is widely inaccurate and didn't even look off his target and got a pick 6'
  12. It will be interesting to see going forward if Jordan Love only looks decent because he's playing against such an awful Bears team or is he actually decent.
  13. The Bears are an awful team if today is any indicator. Jordan Love is about to hang 300+ yards and 3 TDs on them without any turnovers. Justin Fields not looking special at all either.
  14. Wow Josh Pascal only 17 snap counts? Is he only going to be a situational player now?
  15. This sucks. I'm not watching next years draft now. No way do I support trading 2 1sts, 2 3rds, a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round pick for a Running Back.
  16. Did they serve any actual Kansas City BBQ at the stadium?
  17. Not if he takes away from Marvin Jones' target share.
  18. It was really encouraging to see Dan Campbell out coach Craig Stadler tonight too. When you can out coach and beat the best coach in the league that is a tip of the cap to Campbell and how he managed the game.
  19. I don't know where else to say this, but I want Mike Evans on this team. I want a big bodied, outside guy who can go up and get contested catches. If there is one dynamic this offense still seems to be lacking it is a good, outside, big-bodied receiving threat. Tampa Bay is going to be awful this year and they need draft capital to rebuild. They should be open to trading him for draft capital. I want Mike Evans on the Lions.
  20. Any update on Brian Branch? Did he ever come back in the game?
  21. You have to wonder if they break down and meet him a lot closer to what he's asking for now.
  22. Who impressed you the most tonight? To me, it was Ragnow and the offensive line as a whole. They looked dominate up front and would have looked even better if Johnson had stayed committed to the run more in the late second and third quarters. Hutch also really impressed me too. Even though he didn't get a sack, he was a wrecker getting into the backfield and keeping Mahomes on his toes and making him sling the ball out from multiple angles.
  23. This running game could be real dangerous if they commit to it and get Gibbs worked in more consistently. Really excited to see what this running game can evolve into. No more up the middle, HB Dives for 2 yards a piece. Some run game creativity and the talent to do it.
