Harris is scheduled to give remarks on Munich soon. Will be interesting to see what she has to say on this news.
edit: Well that was disappointing. She said that the USA is still working to confirm the news and that if true, Russia is responsible, that it's a sign of Putin's brutality and that the USA will have more to say.
Fox news reporter gives Harris a good review

this is just to cover the 3-4 seasons it will take to build the LV stadium; lease end this year

FG with their top 100 prospects out today.
16. Jobe (Mayer is 69 for those of you tracking at home)
36. Clark (Langford is #2)
46. Keith
48. Jung
so Avila got it right and Harris got it wrong!

Law and FG both gushing about Josue Briceno's ceiling IF he can stay at C.
Crazy to think they actually might have a successful international signing?

Soler off of the board to Giants. The Giants were supposedly considered a leading team for Chapman. Does this signing affect their interest in Chapman? Can the Tigers effectively persuade Chapman into a one year with a vesting option or two year with a player opt out? I know a lot of folks are interested in Jung being brought up at some point this season, but I'm not sure that is something to count on. Chapman at 3B is a defensive upgrade over the current situation. The offense is a question mark, but so is the current situation. I think at this point, salary wouldn't be too big of a deal for the Tigers. Its not like they would be bidding at $40M for this season or something ridiculous like that. But if its a short term deal, offer a way out for Chapman to potentially capitalize on a bounce back season.... why not?
would cost $ and their 3rd round pick.
won't happen, but I would offer 1/35M - 30M for 2024, with a player option of 20M for 2025 or a 5M buyout. that way he gets a) 35M for one year (which Boras will brag about as record setting) b) with a guarantee of 50M over 2 years and c) can go into free agency next winter w/o QO
the only Boras guys I can remember getting really shafted are Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales, who both sat out the same year until July draft to avoid QO,, but usually Boras knows the market better than everyone else.

Sorry, but if this was scripted the NFL needs to better script writers.
yeah; most boring 1st half ever
and if fix was in for Chiefs, why did the refs 3 times in the 4th quarter spot the ball the short?
Mahomes is a killer

So here is the argument to back off and just let Javy be Javy: He has put up an OPS greater than 800 three times in his career, he's averaged 170 Ks in those three seasons. IOW, the argument would be that Javy is his best self when he is swinging away with abandon and in *his* career there is zero evidence that he is better when he Ks less. But clearly, any fool can see he would be a better hitter if he were more selective and shorter to the ball. So what is the right answer?
trying to turn a successful major league hitter, into a different type of major league hitter has been a disaster

ESPN rated our farm system #3 and Baseball America had it at 5. There are many positives brought on by lesser-known prospects coming into their own which I am guessing is part of the jump.
FGs does not have 2024 rankings out yet, but they were 25th at start of 2023 and moved up to 14th by mid-2023; based on their somewhat tepid top 31 prospect list, not sure FG will have them as a top 10 system.
In addition to Bigbie placing only as HM, this was the other surprising thing to me in FG list. If he can stay at SS, that would be great:
Unless you’re fearful that his present physicality is an indicator that he’ll eventually be too bulky to move around on the middle infield, McGonigle is a slam dunk shortstop with enough contact ability and plate discipline to have average everyday shortstop upside and a good utilityman’s floor.

This isn't going to happen, but these are players I like.
that would be a heck of a haul - Senior Bowl has started to move guys up and down (specifically R Wilson)

Do we think Holmes is going to draft for need this year or will he go BPA, regardless of position?
free agency opens before the draft so if he gets DE/Edge and a CB in free agency, then he will have more freedom for BPA, probably still focusing on those 2 spots plus OG and WR later

weird how Ben Johnson honoring his current contract is seen as a negative by some.
players bet on themselves all the time; Johnson is doing the same; even with JJ leaving the OL, it is possible WRs and TEs are even better next season and Off ranks top 3, not just top 5.

3rd PO game with no turnovers for Goff, but he was not at his best; pressure him out of the pocket and yikes!
no idea how to get better at the QB spot; Hooker might never close get to Goff's level play, but I do wonder what they have with Hooker

as soon as the ball bounced up off of Vildor's facemask, you knew how it was going to end.
pretty amazing season considering the massive deficits in the pass rush and the secondary.
4 of the top 93 draft picks; lots of cap room; hopefully this is the start not the end

Now, now, everybody deserves 8th chances. Maybe the Packers, Bears, or Vikings will need someone?
if Tom Brady had decided to sign with the Expos, Matty would be in some sub basement, cutting film for the assistant linebackers coach.

I predict this NFC Championship game will be closer than the last one the Lions played in.
I think I am probably the only member of this board who actually attended the Redskins 41-10 destruction of the Lions in January 1992 at RFK. My boss took me; it was both fun and not fun at all. That was the first of 9 consecutives playoff losses.
The bad news is I just happen to be in SF all week and I am currently seeing how expensive it will be to attend.
