I think the NFL Draft is going to be very entertaining next year.
And by entertaining, I mean an absolute train wreak for the NFL!

over on Earth 2.0, Lions lead at the half 5-0

Giolito to Bos; 2/38.5; can make 40 w/incentives; brutal finish to 2023
I like Maeta and Flaherty at their prices a lot better

what about trading one of either SGL or Reese Oleson for someone like Jordan Westburg or another Orioles infield prospects?
that would be a great move; we are still waiting for an impactful trade from Harris

Payroll has dropped from 17th largest to 19th to - for now - 23rd. Even signing Chapman would NOT give them an average ML payroll.
the idea that young guys Greene-Tork-Carpenter would be aided by 2 rookies - Meadows and Keith - early,
and 2 more rookies - Malloy and Jung - later, and that team will win in 2024 is a fantasy
-
They should of course sign Chapman. He would almost certainly have the highest WAR on the team in 2024. A genuine two way player. Front load a 5 year deal with the goal to get him to opt out after 2 or 3 years.

She could have at least mentioned that she removed the Confederate Flags from her state Capitol while governor.
there's a reason she does not mention that

Payton is doing something no one thought possible - making people root for Wilson.

kudos to Lynn for not including any released players in his top prospect list this year!
FWIW - 11 of the team's 2023 draft picks made the list (including some who have not played yet) as well as 5 more guys acquired by Harris
maybe that reflects some access bias, or Harris & Co are pretty good at talent identification, or both

Pack suspended him 1 game for that

unless they are decimated by injuries in ST, some talented pitchers are ticketed for Toledo to start the season. no idea who will start where, but the April staff will be different than September staff.
overall talent level appears to be good, with legit possibility of very good. overall depth appears to be very good, with legit possibility of great.

We trade for Cahna, sign Maeda and Flaherty and we're pretty content with our offseason.
The triumph of low expectations!

from what I can tell, people a lot smarter than me are arguing that Trump is properly barred under the 14th amendment
and people a lot dumber than me are arguing that Trump is not

these Muslims are idiots, only helping shove Biden more and more into the middle - both in reality and in perception.
probably does not hurt him at all and may help him a bit.

Michigan court said issue was premature because Trump not yet trying get on ballot for president, just on GOP's ballot.
argument is that if GOP wants to put someone who is 32 year old, or Canadian-born, on their primary ballot, they can do that.

No person shall ... hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath ... as an officer of the United States ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same ...
so, the 14th amendment requires no convictions. Confederates who were booted or barred from fed government did not get a trials where they argued about Northern aggression.
any conviction of Trump does not hurt the argument he engaged insurrection or rebellion, but conviction is both 1) not needed under the 14th amendment and 2) not relevant without the 14th amendment.

they looked for a guy who could maximize production with yards after contact. That was Montgomery.
DC/BH said that Montgomery was great with yards after contact and always falling forward.
Now, I cannot unsee it on every DM run - YAC and always falling forward. He's been great.
