would like another LHR, but Hurter could be that guy i suppose

if the Pistons get swept in the finals by OKC, this season will have been a massive, massive success

if Cubs are thinking about moving Hoerner, I would be all over that. Move him back to SS; he has the approach Harris wants. Because he lacks power, he won't get a huge FA contract going into 2027, so maybe you could sign him long term and move him to SS or 2b as needed. don't know what Cubs need. Mize also under control for one more year. Carpenter could replace Tucker's offense.

they are a flawed team, but a 20-5 team! losses by 3, 3, 4, 4, and one blowout, so they have been competitive 24 of 25 nights. getting the same vibes that we felt from the Going to Work crew, when people were asking, are they really this good? how do you score 142 points with no starter getting more than 15? Detroit, which has won five of six, had seven players in double figures and 12 with at least seven points, tying an NBA record held by the 2018-2019 Bucks and 2021-22 Spurs.

THANK YOU! I feel like I am taking crazy pills when people praise his guy over and over. He is so sloppy in everything he does and that shows up in close games.

2 things: alienation of affection has not been a civil remedy in Michigan for decades, so wife has no case this is an insanely ungracious position to take. if Moore kicking in her door, threatening her, and holding a knife to her throat is any indication of their relationship, then I think she deserves a little more compassion

if he has known since September (may or may not be true?) Manuel is toast, no? either they figured out what was going on and covered it up - fired or they figured out what was going on and ignored it - fired or they could not, gee golly, figure out if this was all true or not - fired best move is to make a giant bonfire now, and not have this continue for another 18 months

i don't either one are guys that shape the market very much; but they do have a deadline unlike MLB FAs so we shall see

if Howard Johnson did not annoy Sparky so much, he would have been a big piece for most of the 1980s

this offseason has literally gone just as many on this board predicted: Flaherty back (maybe in a surprising way), Torres and Finnegan back, and then a few million pissed away again on a rehab starting pitcher project. Harris is just trolling us with his GM 101 box checking.

Petit could just be the designated punching bag for all those Coors Field blowouts: "It's 12-3, that means it's Petit time!"
-
in minor league phase, Tigers add 4 pitchers Luke Taggert from Col, Jan Caraballo from SF, John Stankiewicz from Min, and Yendy Gomez from LAA. Tigers lose IF/OF Austin Murr, C Archer Brookman, P Travis Kuhn, and IF Danny Serretti (who somehow made top prospect lists a few years back)

Tigers move up one spot to 22 after Mets are penalized 10 spots for their spending. As of now, Det is picking 22, 63, 72*, 100** and then every 30 spots or so. * CB pick - tradeable one time ** pick they would lose for signing big time FA Pipeline mock has them drafting an A+ name, who I can guarantee does not wear glasses. 22. Tigers: Rocco Maniscalco, SS, Oxford (Ala.) HS (No. 19) Maniscalco reclassified from the 2027 Draft and shares some similarities to No. 1 overall pick Eli Willits (WSH No. 1/MLB No. 15), providing more power potential but less speed.

Petit first pick of Rule 5 Draft! Harris getting fleeced again!
-
I am so thrilled they are not picking people anymore in the Rule 5 draft; it was like trying to get excited over dumpster diving
-
if Harris takes less in a Skubal trade just to get rid of the last 2 years of Baez, I would demand he be fired immediately
-
mlbtraderumors, which will pass on just about any tidbit no matter how irrelevant, has not touched any of this
-
looks like Finnegan is coming back

As far as I know, Boras has never extorted an owner into signing a player. They have always done so using their own free will. It is odd that you would see hiring an attorney to negotiate with a billion dollar machine like MLB would be seen as something bad.
-
and this team does not have 50 innings to just piss away on some rando journeyman who may or may not have figured something out at 32
-
i don't think the Tigers have pitching to spare to send to Houston, but I still think Isaac Paredes would be a good fit on this team. they need to add, at a minimum, one RH bat, at SS, 3B or OF.

well, that is a lot of money for Anderson Harris has got to know that the Boyd-Maeda-Cobb run does not need a Chapter 4 we have three years of Harris showing us who he is I believe him

good Rosenthal article about The Skubal Decision in the Athletic. Basically, if you keep Skubal, get better now. If the Detroit Tigers want to keep Tarik Skubal, president of baseball operations Scott Harris can’t stay in his preferred risk-averse mode...No one is suggesting he do anything reckless and make a free-agent splurge that could set back the franchise years if it goes awry. But if the Tigers keep Skubal – and they should, seeing as how rare opportunities are to win a World Series – it’s time for Harris to get uncomfortable.
