  1. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-tigers-rotation-is-suddenly-flush-with-options/ It doesn’t sound like Detroit has an appetite for a six-man rotation to start the season, which means one of Manning, Mize, or Reese Olson could start the year either in the bullpen or in the minors. With Gipson-Long waiting in the wings and a host of other spot starters like Wentz and Alex Faedo on the 40-man roster, the Tigers have the luxury of bringing some of their top pitching prospects along slowly. Wilmer Flores and Ty Madden both reached Double-A last year and look like they’re on the fast track to the majors, and the Tigers’ top pitching prospect, Jackson Jobe, isn’t that far behind. With the depth the team has established, Detroit can really give that trio of young pitchers all the development time they need when they’d otherwise be lined up to make their debuts this year.
  2. politically, easy to spin this as Biden will go to extra ordinary lengths in Gaza but not Southern border. not a good look for him
  3. Dems could not have asked for a better outcome than Lara. Big $$$ people won't return their calls now, and this just seals the deal, as they sit this one out. Down ballot people will get pennies at most.
  4. Trump posts 91.6M bond. Maybe Elmo or Orban gave him the money at MAL over the weekend? The great news is that as soon as appeals are denied, Carroll gets the cash without a fight. That's when Dump will really melt down.
  5. again, Fox Business super, super pissed at good jobs report; suggests numbers are cooked for election year; wait until they cut interest rates to juice economy all summer!
  6. this is real. NYT: POTUS fails to wins over GQP in SOTUS. eff you all NYT.
  7. GQP did it again; reduced expectations for Biden's performance so low people were expecting a incoherent blob of goo; Biden is solid, but really appears to knock it out of the park because of the triumph of low expectations. Thank you GQP! And the visuals of him talking to everyone late into the night were so good
  8. KLaw top 30 out; no mock but Caleb Bonemer (MI HS 3B) is ranked 11th.
  9. if you keep digging, you eventually will get out of this hole. just keep digging. you're doing great. almost there.
  10. The effort some of you are putting into crazy ideas to motivate Baez by humiliating him or benching him in favor of clearly lesser players is really weird. Dude is a dumpster fire and also the best SS the Tigers have by far but the moment people start pointing that out, people feel the need to come up with some crazy ideas that he is not getting the $98M he is guaranteed. Feel free to keep pointing out he sucks at the plate (he does) but your olde timey "solutions" are silly.
  11. Baez had his worst full season in the majors last year, while posting his best strike out rate ever. looks like he is trying to do just what they want him to do, and it has clearly all blown up in their faces
  12. AJ needs to grab him by the collar, and really lay into him. Give 'em the business. Give 'em the what for. Tell him that namby pamby stuff won't be tolerated and to stop being a duke of limbs. I think we can all agree that is the one sure way to compel him to create more contact.
  13. like I said, people keep telling me its meaningless
  14. Jung just won a minor league gold glove award at 2b, but people tell me that's meaningless
  15. for CB and DE, using free agency to get high end talent at one position and depth at the other, would allow Holmes to do his true BPA approach and grab whoever he wants in the draft
  16. Santana and Pacheco are not looking good
  17. it would be a show of incredible hubris to think you can ignore one of the NFL's major talent infusion streams (free agency) and still build a SB winner the Chiefs and the Patriots routinely spent significant money in free agency during their SB runs nothing wrong to prioritizing your guys, but when you have gaping holes on your roster at CB and DE, it would be a huge mistake to not use free agency to make your team better
  18. no need to kill them all, just cull the majority
  19. yes. they are allowed to do whatever they want. But, once 5 justices agree, Roberts can issue a decision. Dissents have been formally added months after decisions. Roberts will have a 7-2 vote against Trump right away. Roberts will write the decision, and I will say that he will wait as long as he can for Thomas and Alito to come around. That is a good faith reason for Roberts to wait a little bit of time, even if Thomas and Alito will act in bad faith by trying to delay as long as possible. Roberts really wants it to be 9-0, even if he ends up with 2 insane concurrences by Thomas and Alito.
  20. also, you forgot to call him a lollygagger, that would obviously compel him to create more contact
  21. we are effing doomed. these people literally live in a different reality.
  22. They have glaring needs at DE and CB and somewhat less so at DT. They have the cap room to make more than one significant move. I would be happy with just one impact signing. It would be a mistake to not do so IMO.
  23. still possible to get real value from Hooker and Sorsdal; Martin and Green did not show much of anything though
