the market has spoken. this is all that Rodriguez was worth. and it is not very much.
so the question is not, are the Os wrong? the question is, is the marketplace wrong?
if the Tigers offered Carp or Perez for Rodriguez, the Os would have instantly taken that over Ward, a lesser, more expensive player, with less team control.
but the Tigers did not make that trade for a reason.
I am begging you not to think that the one of the worst run franchises in professional sports somehow has gamed the system and outmaneuvered 28 other teams to acquire a huge asset for pennies on the dollar.
