Watson’s catch was clearly a catch. He got firm control with a foot down then the next step was down: the third step was out of bounds. The WIcks TD was not a catch. The defender hit his hands causing the ball to switch hands. Even though he never bobbled it, he also didn’t choose to move the ball to the other hand which means he didn’t have full control.

RE, Lions rushing yards. Gibbs had 15 carries for 219 yards. Monty had 5 for 18. It’s fair to ask how much of the 219 was Gibbs being the best player on the field, by a large margin. The Giants DL gets QB pressure because that makes headlines and money. Stopping the run is not what they are out there for. If the Lions are forced into obvious passing situations it’s legitimately scary. There is almost immediate pressure. i think that’s one of the reason they are so epically bad at 3rd and long. The line is banged up and struggling. They can still pull off plays, they are generally talented, but pass protection is a liability.
