  1. Keith was 50/50 as a position player or pitcher when he was drafted. He wanted to play a position.
  2. Reports I've read is that he has good enough feet and actions for SS, but not enough arm. Longenhagen thinks he will be an excellent 2b. Rainer looks like he has all the goods to be an excellent SS. Rainer really has a hose.
  3. I think the Tigers think highly of him.
  4. Not gritty enough.
  5. Chuck Scrivener!
  6. I wonder if RJ Petit is going to be a candidate for the Tigers or not, but he's had an excellent year, and needs to be protected from the rule 5.
  7. You're right. That's why I said sheepishly.
  8. Imagine, 10+ years of Clark, McGonigle, Greene and Tork at the top of the lineup?
  9. Recently, Eric Longenhagen kind of sheepishly compared McGonigle to Rogers Hornsby. He, Clark and Briceno are still 20 years old. That's fun.
  10. I think they got Charlie as insurance for Mize.
  11. Morton looked good yesterday against the Blue Jays.
  12. Josh Randall is a decent arm. Teams are obviously looking for pitching, hence the Suarez deal.
  13. I don't think so. He has enough injured starters right now. If they go starter, they need healthy arms.
  14. The Tigers don't have the pitching depth to trade Melton.
  15. Do you have Copp's highlights? I didn't see him play last year. He should be a checking line center. Nothing wrong with that.
  16. Kane and Cat need someone slick in between them, and Danielson is a better all around player than Copp. If he's not on a top two line, they would probably leave Danielson in GR.
  17. The Rams were rumored to have offered a 26 2nd rounder, which might be the reason the Lions had to offer so much.
  18. Pre-Deadline Top 100 Prospects Update | FanGraphs Baseball McGonigle is #1, Clark #9, Briceno #32, Liranzo #34, Melton #70. No mention of Rainer.
  19. I was thinking, put Kasper on the first line, LW, and move Danielson to 2nd line center?
  20. He's at 61.7 gb%, and is rule 5 eligible this year.
  21. I was in a rabbit hole tonight, looking for useful relievers in the Tigers system. I ran across Drew Sommers in Toledo, who's a lefty with really nice numbers, and I forgot that he was acquired by the Tigers in the Mason Englert deal. 22. What about Fielding Yost?
  23. Only if Reader gets hurt. They are both NT's.
