The Tigers have announced the following roster moves: *Claimed C Ali Sanchez off waivers from St. Louis and optioned him to Triple A Toledo *RHP Jacob Barnes cleared waivers and has been granted his release

They are not flushing schoops salary for next year down the toilet. Grossman will be 33 in September. When you get Daz and Meadows back, he should be gone.

They owe Schoop $7.5 million next year. He is safe.

Hinch is also a bit of an authoritarian. He doesn't allow his coaches to speak and offer their perspective. And I think he doesn't want Avila or Ilitch speaking much during the season either. I'm guessing that's part of the deal when he signed up. So his mealy mouthed excuses become redundant and tiring. But he's a placid/unemotional guy who looks at data. They've gone through the data and there's nothing to do. Guys have to hit...what he didn't realize is the organization doesn't have any viable replacements for horrific offensive performance. So they have to sit in it.

Tigers have scored 0 or 1 run in 7 of the last 14 games.

Soto will be a 7th inning guy for a playoff team and just dominate a post season...he is miscast as the last line of defense on an awful team.

That's the issue.

An uninspiring and unwatchable product. They got 30,000 for a few games in the blue jays series. I imagine they won't get that many people in the park for like 4 combines games going forward.

I'll take anyone who can a flyball beyond 300 feet.
