I can't imagine that their lack of self-awareness is anything but a big show for the public. Just like Kerr who's probably still claiming that he, "didn't see the incident."

Killian Hayes got a vote for most overrated? I'm guessing that was Jaden Ivey's vote since he got forced to play next to that guy all year.

Is a stomp not as bad as a punch? He clearly freed his foot from Sabonis' grasp and then decided to stomp down with intent in order to make a point. A 230 pound guy stomping on your chest can easily break a rib and is far more dangerous than a punch. He even said after the game that this is the second time someone grabbed his ankle and he was tired of it - clear intent. He was trying to send a message. The NBA should send one back with a suspension.

I'm glad the NBA decided not to care that we sat our leading scorer and our best bench player for the last 20 games of the season. This is just a case of, "don't talk about it and you won't get penalized."

From what I'm reading about Keefe he sounds like a defensive guy originally from the Popovich line. Don't know much else about him, but I'm intrigued.

His tenacity is always impressive... ...then again, he took 19 shots and only made 3. A league average player is getting you 12-15 more points on that number of shots and maybe you don't need those 2 offensive rebounds and that phenomenal defensive play in the 4th quarter because you're up by 10.

There's 20M in cap holds that I expect them to release (Hami, CoJo, McGruder, Rhoden). Without that I'm counting about 101M in salary (including Burks and Dedmon's dead money), which would leave about about 33M in cap...is that right? How does the draft pick factor into that? If we're assuming 33M in space, do we then subtract 10-12M for that pick putting them around the 20M you mentioned?

If I was betting, my money would be on Lee. I've heard his name way too much and apparently he's the first candidate they're pursuing. From what little I know of him, he seems like a pretty intelligent guy who's strong in player development. No clue about his command of a locker room or coaching identity (offense, defense, etc). I'd love to see them interview Chris Quinn as well, but who knows, Miami may have promised him Spo's job for the future. Fun fact: Quinn's career high in points (26) was against the Pistons.

I'm not going to getting into the typical internet argument were we get into a semantics discussion about the words "draft capital". We simply can't sit here and talk up how well OKC did with their drafts in the same breath that we dog out Weaver's work so far and then ignore the potential of Cade, Ivey, and Duren. Those were Piston draft picks and so they are by definition "draft capital" that could have been traded, picked differently, or whatever else Weaver wanted to do with them. As for the names you mentioned in your second paragraph, most of what you've listed I'd count as good moves or ones we can't quite answer yet. Weaver isn't perfect and I've called him out on numerous things, but you're arguing around the one area where I think Weaver has done a good job, especially when you consider what he had to work with. Again, when Cade is SGA's age and tenure, let's see if they can hit the high bar of that 9th seed that everyone is slobbering over OKC for. I recall a lot of people slobbering over Atlanta a couple of years ago as well.

Role players are what most GMs hope they manage to draft with late teens draft picks and that's what those guys are. Also, you're conveniently leaving out the 3 potential studs in Cade, Ivey, and Duren that we used our capital on. Oh, and a 2nd round pick in Livers who also looks like a solid rotation player in a league where most 2nd rounders don't even make a squad. Sure, we can all agree that Killian is a bust, but overall Weaver has done a nice job in the draft without the luxury of All-Stars to trade for assets. Like I said, let's see where this team is when their best player is SGA's age (24 with 5 years in the league) - that'll be 3 seasons from now in the 2026 playoffs. The way people are anointing OKC as the second coming here, it sounds like making the 9th seed is the high bar being set for that season.

I'm as cynical as the next person, but I'll be the devil's advocate here and remind everyone that this is SGA's 5th year in the league and he's 24. Ivey and Cade have each played one year and they're 21 and 20. Oh, and Duren is 19. What will the Pistons look like when those guys are in their 5th year? Can we say they won't be a play-in team? Because that's all OKC is right now. Certainly Presti has made some nice moves but he's also had way more capital to work with and I'm not sure the story has been written on this Pistons rebuild yet.

Really sucks that all SVG left Weaver to start the rebuild was Drummond and a broken Griffin that nobody wanted. Would've been nice to have a Superstar or two to build some draft capital. The basketball Gods should grant us the #1 this year to make up for it.

Could be worse. I clicked on ESPN2 for a few minutes and they’ve got Stephen A talking the whole time in a second window. I thought that was the main broadcast for a few minutes and I was about to lose my mind.

Totally agree on KAT. But also look at the shot clock on those plays they highlighted on TNT - there was no time left to post up anyway because they kept pounding the ball for 15 seconds on every possession like they were trying to get the last play of the quarter. Mind boggling offense.

Epic collapse by MIN. I can’t even comprehend why they spent the entire 4th and overtime pounding the ball and not even getting into an offensive set until 7 seconds left in the shot clock every single time down the court. Some absolutely terrible coaching.
