  1. We shouldn’t have to wait 5 minutes for this pick. They’ve had a month. It’s Wemby.
  2. Wow. D*cks suit is baaaad. Scoot’s out there looking like a rapper, all the way to the diamond teeth.
  3. ESPN big board (Jay Bills) scrolling on the bottom of the screen with Whitmore at 4 and Hendricks at 6. The names rumored for the pistons are at 8 (Ausar) and 10 (Walker).
  4. If the pistons were hoping to move down on draft night this Washington stuff actually hurts us. Everyone thought they were a lock to take Black, and the rumor was that Utah wanted to move up in front of them to get him. Well, they now have Tyus and Poole in the backcourt so they’re probably not taking Black. Utah no longer needs to move up. Even worse, Washington could be looking at a big man like Hendricks now, which means he wouldn’t be available at 9 anyway.
  5. Golden State so happy they found a front office dumb enough to take on Poole’s terrible contract. Perfect player for tanking team.
  6. D*ck is a little taller with a little better wingspan. Also, you hope he isn't injured all the time. But you're right, I see the same thing. Luke Kennard led the NBA in 3 point percentage last year but you couldn't keep him on the court because he was such a liability on defense, especially in the playoffs. If you watch D*ck's college games you can see how he was hunted on defense as well. I think there's a place for him in the NBA, but I'm not sure about the ceiling as a starter, particularly in the playoffs where teams hunt mismatches. I'm also not sure about him on the Pistons who can't afford to have any more poor defenders and don't have the type of star gravity that would get him open shots all day. There's certainly a point where you take him because of the elite shooting, but I'm not reaching for D*ck 🙂
  7. Kind of reminds me of the Pistons previous era. Should've traded Dre long before they did (not that he was as good as either Beal or Porzingis), but instead they doubled down on a team everyone knew was mediocre. By the time Gores let them rebuild, all they got was a second round pick to start the rebuild. Makes you envious of teams like OKC and Houston that started their rebuilds with a ton of draft assets.
  8. I'd be happy with Sasser as our backup PG. Maybe a draft night Killian dump for a future second? Or send him to Utah/Dallas as throw in with one of those first round trades that have been discussed.
  9. Is there anyone James hasn’t mentioned in the past two weeks? He’s pretty much covered anyone going 3 through 17.
  10. At 9, one of the same group we're all talking about will still be there. Orlando takes Ausar or Whitmore (whoever wasn't taken at 5). Washington is going to take Black. That leaves us with either Walker or Hendricks (whoever Indy didn't take). Either way you've upgraded your defense and maybe didn't lose any shooting if you got Hendricks. Then there are a number of ways you could go with #10. D*ck would be solid for more shooting (and more bad defense) or Coulibaly could be an interesting project here since this is a bonus pick.
  11. I like that scenario a lot.
  12. If I was Charlotte, I'd probably just draft Scoot. On the other hand, if you're Portland and Scoot falls to you, you pretty much have to make the deal for Zion. They've put all their eggs in the Dame basket and this is the most realistic shot they have at getting a superstar next to him. Huge risk that he doesn't play, but if you're not going to do the right thing and blow it up, then you have no choice. The other option is they do a last second 180 if Scoot falls and decide to move Dame while they can still get a haul for him, which would be the right move.
  13. I actually listened to that podcast with Vecenie and JEIII where Edwards talks about Jarace or the Twins being the likely pick. 1) He says no less than 5 times that he's not sure if he's being used as a smokescreen. 2) Then Vecenie goes on for 10 minutes straight about how Walker is literally the worst pick of the bunch for Detroit, followed by the Twins. He says that he's taking Whitmore as fast as possible if he's there at 5 and if not, then he's trading down for the best fit which is Hendricks at 7 (because he may not fall past Indy) or whoever remains at #9 (if you're sure Washington is taking Black). Remember last year when all the pre-draft talk from JEIII was about how much the Pistons loved Murray and Mathurin? But, who did they draft? Ivey. This year, who have we heard the most about from JEIII? Walker and the Twins, who we know are coveted by Orlando and Indy respectively. My guess is that this front office is trade shopping.
  14. Welcome to the crazy week of smokescreens. 🙄 Thursday can't come soon enough.
  15. She's been posting so much stuff non-stop. It's been going on for weeks now since he posted something about a kid he has with another girl. Everything from talking about 100K allowances to spitting in her mouth.
  16. Unfortunately, Jarace Walker doesn't tick the box for best fit or for best player. As for fit vs best available - it's all about draft tiers. You take the guy in the highest draft tier who is the best fit. Same thing Sam Vecenie does. That's why he has Houston taking Amen even though Whitmore is #3 on his board. He sees them as the same tier with Amen being a better fit in Houston. The reverse is true for Amen vs Whitmore on the Pistons because Amen is useless without the ball in his hands. A player in the wrong situation will never reach their potential, so are they still "Best Available"? That's why draft tiers are so important.
  17. Really hope it's more smokescreen (or James talking out of his butt again), but JEIII saying that he's "getting the feeling" it'll be one of the twins or Jarace at #5.
  18. Wow. They got a hot pile of garbage because of that no trade clause. Beal got to choose where to go and they had to make it happen. Oh well, I was already rooting against the Suns because of KD, so making a “super team” with stars choosing trade destinations only reinforces that for me.
  19. Scary numbers for Brandon Miller. Also for Ausar, who apparently couldn't score at the rim against high school kids even though he has "elite athleticism." I've heard of 1, 2, and 3 level scorers, but is "Zero Level Scorer" a new term? Mediocre numbers for Hendricks, who does struggle to score on non-dunks at the rim. Great numbers for Whitmore and (surprisingly) Walker.
  20. YouTube link below - and it's a great listen - but here's the result of Sam Vecenie being forced to put guys into 4 categories with a fixed number of slots based upon historical draft results for the decade prior: Sam really struggled with this. He wanted Duren in the Starter column and Hendricks vs Black was a huge struggle for him as well.
  21. Looks like Miami and now Phoenix are the front runners for Beal according to Shams. I have no idea what they could be offering outside of Ayton or how that trade makes sense for either team.
  22. It’s a solid comparison simply because both guys are going to cap out as fringe all stars and neither guy is leading a team to a championship 😁 Eric Bledsoe is another good comp.
  23. As a former marathon runner, I can tell you that it can be a huge difference. I wear Hoka which have a very thick sole and my wife wears Ons, which have almost no sole. You're talking an inch or more difference. Guys looking to get an advantage and seem larger for their position would absolutely take their measurements in taller shoes. Big men looking to get away from the 7' stigma that now exists in the NBA would measure in the slimmer ones. That's why they take the combine measurements barefoot, so we can all compare apples to apples. And that's why we should compare apples to apples.
  24. Then they should measure them all in shoes. But they don't. Because shoe heights vary so it's not an accurate comparison. Scoot isn't suddenly 2" closer in height to all these other guards because we decided that he's the only one we're going to talk about in shoes to fit our narrative.
  25. Interesting how people want to talk about Scoot "in shoes" now to make him seem taller, but most other candidates are talked about barefoot. The kid is 6'2". If we want to start adding two inches to everyone to put them in shoes then a lot of players look a lot different. Whitmore, the Thompsons, and Walker are now 6'8". Hendricks is now 6'10". A 6'6" Jaden Ivey sounds even better than that 6'4" version we have.
